Why not just do drugs...

Agreed, one shouldn't do drugs so often that they let their life, i.e friends, work, other relationships fall apart. It's pleasure, and its use should be allocated accordingly.

Because the pleasure available is transitory, the pain of the aftermath could outweigh the pleasure, and the purpose of my life is the pursuit of God, the ultimate satisfaction, not sensual pleasure.

The need to escape a bad life can be intense. But sometimes a good life just isn't good enough either. Curiosity, love of adventure, looking for love, purpose.
A pill can't deliver on all those hopes.
But neither is it wrong to hope for a life where you are not a pawn on someone else's chess board, nor a cog in the wheel, nor brick in the wall as the song goes. Perhaps you are the only one around who hears a call, something so plaintive, so desirable that you'd give your whole being to find the source, find the One who makes the call.
Then would not be the time to numb your mind, but to wake it up, to run toward the light with all you've got.

I see nothing wrong with using drugs as long as they don't become your life. I am a drug user mysef. People are way to quick to judge & that really pisses me off. They do not know your situation so there 4 should have no right to make judgement calls upon you until they do! My husband 4 example this past year he fractured his spine & he also has RA.He is only 28! He does not have insurance so yes we buy pills of the street. When I had a job & insurance I was prescribe pills 4 my back as well due to a slip disc, so when I got them of course we didn't have to buy them. Anyways that is my point because people will use the term "pillhead" and that's what makes me so mad, yes I take pills , but at the same time I (we) do have pain. That's not to say I judge anyone that uses them and doesn't . Of course I have taken them when I wasn't major of pain. I guess what I am trying to say is I don't judge anyone 4 who they r or what they do because that is there biz not mine. So yes I do agree Why not just do drugs & be happy :) If you are a good friend to me I will give the same back in return. I have friends young & old from all walks of life. Life is just to short to be a judgement asshole ..lol..

    Sorry 4 my rambling guys

    Hi LoveBuzz!

There are people who urge others to take no drugs whatsoever for any reason, even pain relief. I have met chiropractors that believe that you should either get chiropractic treatment or undergo pain management therapy. The practitioners who believe this won't even be happy if you take aspirin.

There are others who agree that drugs for pain relief is acceptable as long as you are under a doctor's guidance to make sure you are getting the most effective relief and to help you avoid dependency issues and toxicity.
I am in this camp. A few years back, I had severe pain issues and I took very strong drugs under a doctor's care. The drugs could have killed me if I took them long enough, but I had no kind of life without them. Fortunately my body healed and I could first switch to a less effective pill that was not life threatening. Then I was finally able to drop the pills entirely.

There are those who take drugs for recreation or to escape a bad life. Doesn't sound like either you or I are in that boat.

Over time, most drugs stop having the same blissful effect that they have at the start. Then you need to increase your dosage to reach the same high levels.
I'm reminded of a scene from The Simpsons. Krusty the Klown (while freebasing moon-rocks): "Uhhhg. This just gets me to 'normal.'"

Ain't really a safe way to be high for 80 years. Drugs are only a small part of the entire struggle. If you try to make them any more then you've got an even bigger problem than you started with. Moderate like a careful son of a bitch and attempt other outlets. Proceed with care. Y'all know the risks, I hope. (Some of you guys starting at 18, though... you're going to run out of options by 24. Good lucks.) :)

.....you're paying WAY more for street pills than he'd get from a doctor, with or without insurance.

Stoner, In your Stuffed Cakes picture, those pills are merely decorating a cake, which says a lot. To me, the cake is the main thing and the pills cannot turn a rotten potato or a boring life into a cake, they just liven up something that is already good.

I found a way to escape from being a cog in the machine, a brick in the wall or Bill Murray on Groundhog Day, but it probably won't work for you. You will have to find your own way to break loose.
Can you get someone to hide a file in your cake? I can distract the guard while you make a run for it!

Cause you feel like shit when its all gone and it gets expensive as fuck, so its kinda hard to be able to afford it for every day. Still need to eat you know, and have a roof under your head.
And you can't do certain ones every day cause of how addictive they are.
Cause i'm pretty sure most drug uses would love to do their favourite drug every single day.

Well, I shared a house with a guy who did it while I lived there.
He was one of the most brilliant computer specialists I have ever met, but on his days off, he was down on coco street, scooping up his usual dose.
He could go a long time like that, sober on the job, party his ass off every weekend. To be honest, I am not sure why he spun out of control and reached a point where he regretted taking more than he wanted and taking it when he didn't want to be taking it. Obsessive compulsive? Maybe. I can be a little like that myself, just on other stuff.
But I guess I inadvertently proved your point. Coke became this guy's world.

it's not that it becomes your world. it's only a part of it. but what it turns your life into, the immediate physical and mental state of existence, that's what i was getting at. and you're right, cocaine does not turn your life into a cake, it turns it into flying-in-space-existing-as-music shit. incomparable. it fully lives up to its reputation.

The "vague echoe" comes from societies stigmatization of drugs. In your culture, it was taught that Drugs are Bad, and it was ingrained into your moral system.

Elsewhere, others use "drugs" as a central element of their culture, and it brings them much happiness.... with no guilt.

We are creatures who seek pleasure (reward), and avoid pain (punishment). It's a feature that has allowed us to survive as a species.

    i for one...LOVE DRUGS...and.. VERY HAPPY!! :)

^He talks about substance abuse. Nothing wrong with doing some drugs by definition. If a person doesn't limit his drugs use just because 'it feels so good' it rarely doesn't take a toll on other aspects of a person life.
