Why no peace....?

i don't think that those "religious wars" would have been any different if religion wasn't involved. they were still overwhelmingly property and land driven. all the raids to "convert the infidels" and such led to such handy increases in trade routes for those "morally superior" folk. religion is just a flag for cultural divides that have existed ever since people moved apart for long enough to forget how to speak each other's language. and now you have a group of people (the terrorists) who are fighting to get people out of their country, and i'm sure a whole of those terrorists are just fucking assholes who want to hurt someone.

 

The problem with this is that if the farmers tend to not be able to sell their crops, they have not got enough money to keep farming. So they will then be adding to the problem of the hungry. When food production slows, prices also rise making it more difficult for the people who were on the brink of hunger in the first place and increasing the number of people that need to be helped.

The main problem with food re-distribution is the fact that very little actually gets to people who need it most.

As for religion. I do think that religion has been cited as the cause for many of the wars of recent history. I never really looked at it like KC suggested before. But she has a point. Religion is used as a manipulative tool by the people in power to persuade their countrymen/citizens that the war is morally justified. What a wonderful political tool.

If it didn't exist, they would probably find other excuses to achieve the same ends. Hitler didn't need religion to persuade his countrymen of the logic of his plans.

no, that was a typo. i intended to say a "whole lot" of those terrorists are just fuckin assholes. but i sympathize with their desire to get people the fuck out of their country. but they don't just target their enemy here nad in the rest of the world, they target (violently) anyone within their own country who doesn't toe their religious, political or clannish background. no, i don't think the vast majority of dumbass kid soldiers we have are out to destroy anyone who disagrees with them.

and don't presume i only get my knowledge of the military from commercials. my entire family is military, except for me. i've grown up around these military types my whole life. there's a few here and there that really belong in a mental institution, they're fucked up. but they're certainly not setting out to destroy an entire culture. they're following their orders because they don't know what the fuck else to do. but they're certainly not deliberately murdering innocents to make a political point.

none of this is about religion, however, it's about power and greed.

Im about to watch the movie. But yea another point... I think humans (because of thier intelligence) would be able to live in peace. The problem is that long ago we made war and religion acceptable. Nobody knows for sure if any religion is real. I personally beleive it is all lies and stories used to control people. For thousands of years the masses have been blindly lead by small groups of powerful people. This is the way social evolution has somehow evolved. What im saying is if people truly thought for themselves (the "like me" comment) there would be no reason to go on large scale wars. The only time i would fight in a war is if it were to protect me or the ones i love. So if nobody attacked me (th u.s) then there would be no reason for war. Everyone in iraq is there because they were told to. They did it, with no personal gain, and now many of them are dead. r.i.p. If religion and governments did not tell us to go to war, and we were not greedy, there would be peace. Im not saying this will ever happen it is just my view.

 

Just whach the movie man, you'll find those things there. We are greedy because money exists.

I can only say that because I agree, and I must assume my ideas to be good.

In truth we do not know much more than I'm somewhere and you are reading this.

But in knowing that... we know where we are, and we know what we must do to get where we want to be... and in knowing the satisfaction of a complete life will most likely not come, we must take solace in the journey itself - thats where happiness and peace lie... dissatisfaction with life itself is unwarranted... but I ramble alot...

I just got done watching that movie for the third time.

I love it, it is full of Truth. However, there are some facts that they did not source, and some that after research I found to be False. One can question the validity of the movie's details, but it is undeniable that the point they tried to make, was made.

Overall it is a movie designed to open the minds of the common people, and I know many that have done so through watching it.

It is strange though. I do not believe in religions. But wouldnt it be crazy if it was all true. According to the movie many religions were based on the same story. Many cultures, even accross seas, had similar stories. Perhaps this is because it really happened. I personally beleive it is just a glorified myth, but i keep an open mind.

Also, the movie was very interesting. Some of it sounded like bull shit but it was very informative. 9/11, the banks, terrorism. The majority of people are like sheep just following along without ever questioning. Free your mind and think for yourself.

3 reasons why I think there will be no peace, usually they are combined.

 

The point of the movie was to show that nothing ever happened, the christian religion is pagan and astrological based... whether it admits it or not. *cough* christmas... *cough* is probly the most obvious connection, but of course not the only.

The myths represent what happens every day/year.. has nothing to do with real people.

I don't see how an open mind could ever be christian, the religion is entirely debunked with any research. Jewish is more feasible, a bit closer to what things should be... but that line of god thinking doesn't come together as undeniable truth no matter how you put it, falls on belief... which falls back to if you believe X you might as well believe (insert infinity character).

 

So start by denying all 3 and allowing for others to do the same

I'm not christian, I told my mother and she said that I betraded my faith, I belive that Jesus existed but as a wise man who looked deeper, the thing is... if you look deeper you'll see that christianity has nothing with Jesus... only fool man whould put people in hell only because thay aren't christian... and that christianity is saying. I belive peace will come with the age of aqarious because it meens harmonisation and it can't be whidought peace... in a way I think the hippie movement is like prepareing for the world for what is yet to come... I'm reading something about the vedas... that hinduisam is realy wisdom... the book is analiseing the vedas and some philosofers before Sokrat and the bile... and I saw many similaritys said in a diferent way... for exemple in the bible it is wroten: "from ashes we are and to ashes we go"... and in hindoisam people think that throught burning everything is going back from where comed, to Brahman which is the one or the thing that alweys was or god(apsolouth)... and so on... it is said thet evil it is lack of knowledge to.
