    Ouch. Noted.

I will try to stop. Or start.

7000 posts and 30 years prax. You ought to be thoroughly primed for such conversation. Yet you’ve been seemingly led full circle, back to that state of nature we’ve learned but have brought into the present, making it no longer a rhetorical nicety but a reality. How far have you come from your first hypothesis of simple interaction that you are willing to believe in the superiority of convention contrary to your own? Especially when the former is most disrespectful of the latter’s standards.

I had expected that you had known your daily thoughts well and that those thoughts have hardly anything to do with public questions.

Will you use naivety as an excuse for demanding a transformation of your actual public order? And allow those who want to produce their maimed souls in evidence against your mad pursuit of truly universal common ground?

I would rather you had responded with a sense of moral unpretentiousness.

You, more than any other poster here, ought to see that post and this one with the sense of irony when it comes to posting a reply in the first place.

Perhaps it’s the nostalgia with which you look back at the insignificant interaction of your youth. Perhaps it is looking back at the insignificant interaction with a sense of fear. But why, oh why, be taken in by the psychological folly of this fucking place with respect and not apathy?

For me it is difficult to tell why you are honest with previous posters.

p.s. i feel i should add that i really don't regret going to college at all; i just would have gone about it differently if i had it to do again...

I went for a year and I liked it but I'm still deciding what I want to do with my life and I'm not going back until I have a better idea what that is. otherwise its a waste of money.

I'm not going to pretend to have understood all of your post. Though I believe I've picked up on a couple things worth noting which I've put in bold.

Tell me if I'm wrong, I believe basically you're making the claim I've temporarily lost my sense of irony. Of being unable to take online interaction or public interaction more generally with a grain of salt. Especially in the face of a ridiculous accusation.

HOWEVER, I must say that my understanding of online or public interaction (all of it really) is both serious and ironic. Both important and not. Dialectical.

It is a matter of layers within myself, one of which is insecure. Another of which could give two shits about "public opinion."

Also, one layer which understands online interaction to be unimportant. Another layer which still takes on the responsibility to be aware that this interaction, though mediated, still involves human beings.

One layer which is ashamed of my own development in youth. My seriousness, my ressentment, my errors. Another layer which is grateful to those "errors" for bringing me where I am now.

It's not a matter of repudiating insecure or immature parts of myself at all. Nor is it a matter of repudiating maimed souls. And though universal understanding be a folly, let the negotiated boundaries in our interaction not be.

For that reason, I'll pepper my casualness of interaction on this board with certain limits. One of which being that of slander. Alongside repeating myself, fruitless circular conversations, advice-giving, shouting matches and so on. Much like I aspire to do in my daily life and live interaction with others.

I thought Bella's posts was a time when I had to assert myself. Much like I had asserted myself against BraveSirRubin's vitriolic racial commentary. Or Cate's commentary on immigrants, for that matter. But my seriousness lasts for one post. I won't be repeating myself.

And yet, I know when I'm 70 and have 500,000 posts, I'll blush at my current post and level of understanding. I accept that.

I am a behavioralist. I analyze and reform deviant behavior for a living. I am going to grad school next year to be a liscensed psychologist...it's not a kick.
I am not projecting my past experiences onto anyone, rather I am using them to help identify similar behavior traits that most men with borderline personality disorder all have.
All I said before, and I'll say it again is that to me you seem to be full of shit and full of yourself, or full of the fake persona you wish to be.

I went to college with some people that were dumber than rocks.

Haha I'll never forget going home after my first day ranting at my mom that she sent me off to the place full of village idiots. (I wasn't allowed to pick my school even though I had grant money)

I later found out that just attending a college in Ga would put me in classes with idiots. ;)

    Lyns, Prax cool it.
