Why can't this thread be rockin'? I don't like all the hurt feelings. I care what you have to say briezie. S'not my style of music, but keep the r 'n' r coming, you know what I'm saying?
I also appreciate your posts, briezie. Who cares if I like the music in it or not. But if I have a thought to spend on it regarding the topic I should just be able to of course. Just like everybody else is doing. It does not mean I disprove the band or the taste of the person who's sharing it AT ALL. Kind of stupid that I have to explain that (to guerilla) but ok.
Wow the sound of Paul Rodgers voice really takes me back...not a cut, but it would be hard not to mistake this with a track off a Bad company record, lol Your bud, Tony is livin' the dream for sure. Surprised you didn't post some Blue Murder... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF_zBTKYOx0 Though 'hair metal' doesn't do much for me, what bass player wouldn't want to play with Carmine Appice? Sykes is no slouch either. Do you play any fretless, Briezie?
Yep! I was going to post some blue murder, but I got reluctant. And yes, I do play fretless and stand up. Tony..all those guys are amazing players, and are still at it. Lol I asked Tony this morning if he had seen any cool basses in Moscow, tried to say he doesnt collect more than what he needs., He only has like...30 of the best basses in the world. I had to laugh. But yes, they all switch around with plsyers..you know how that goes. Im not sure if theres vid, but ladt year he was playing the Jimi Hendricks tribute tour.
You also understand what it is to play different styles and genres as a musician..might not be a favorite to play, but still enjoy and appreciatethe calibre of the musicians. Ive learned a great deal in this thread..about what an audience expects of us up there. I know now that there are concieved notions of what goes on, that are much different than what really goes on, but its important, and has really changed my way of thinking.ive only experienced it from the players side and never realized how demanding the listeners are when it comes to personal taste and dislike for bands who dont fit that taste. Not saying its bad, but I just didnt understand the dynamic of it..I sorta do now, sorta.
True, Paul has an unmistakeable voice but I was referring to the chord progression and melody line there.
Can you even imagine what it must have been like before the advent of recorded music available for consumers? When an audiences musical experience could only happen in real time? A musician was only as good as their last performance and the memory it held in the audiences mind.
http://youtu.be/3973tfsllqw This was the one that got the airplay, and since it was so commercial sounding, peeps might think that the whole thing was just something written for commercial purpose..and it was. But they really enjoyed playing this song, and i think the feeling of that shows thru. It does to me, but Im curious if it does for others.
Yes, not only can I imagine it, but it still holds true today to a big extent.Another reason to know your shit! Ya?
You know, since you mentioned it Theprodu, I think im going to re record that track of yours,on fretless this time.Glad you brought it up..
Cool! A fretless sound could really enhance the feel of it, though I really dug what you did with the last go...
Thank you! But yes! fretless would give it a killer sound. Anyway, I guess I best stop hijackin the thread and stay on topic.. .
There have been some cool vids some have posted that might get me into some post 2000 bands, so thanks for that But none of them have actually conquered the world Rock is still dead
"Rock is still dead" To you. And thats a damn shame, I hope you eventually find something you like, and that re awakens the spirit in you.
