I have been doing nothing else than posting the shit I like. I even encouraged it to everybody else, as those are the best examples. Not really my kind of sound/song.
I have nothing further to add and am up for posting songs I like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMM3MgS4yxc lol this is way too old. Sorry asmo. It's kind of rockin', though, especially for the Osmonds.
LMAO!! Thats hilarious! And youre right..not my thing but hell yea they're rockin out for sure. Best damn post in the whole thread.funny as hell because of who they are.damn if they arent gettin down tho.Great catch!!
You don't have to apologize to me for that Yeah, it rocks like a mofo Just saying when you're talking about the bands I posted when you say they can't play their stuff you are wrong. They can play their stuff. You are entitled to your opinion of course, but here it makes little sense (unless you have some kind of standard they are supposed to meet, but still that doesn't mean they can't play, just that they would not meet your standard). They don't have to be able to play like you or your kind of rock, or like the example you shared at all. They're doing something different even when it is both trippy rock. They're grooving and rocking and getting their sound across. Maybe not to you, but that's just you then. Should be no issue. Saying they can't play though, is nonsense. Lots of people enjoy it and acknowledge their sound is good.
I kind of like that Intronaut song. It reminded me of the Meat Puppets circa backwater in a weird, possibly incorrect, way. Though definitely not as pop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGbva-0zmb8
There were lots of bands like that on the Roadburn festival as well last time I was there. It's kind of eerie and spaced out but to me it doesn't groove/rock a lot. But I have a very specific taste I can share a song of Dead Meadow of which everything sounds good, except the vocal style. And it's so off putting for me personally that it ruins the bands sound for me. I did enjoy them live too, but there as well I wished they were just instrumental But their approach in general reminds me in a similar way as in that Intronaut song. I'll post the one I actually dig of course: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrmrwF4aUW0
Although the Black Keys's sound gets far too repetitive for me really soon (I only dig a song or 2), I actually find Dan Auerbach's solo album contains some really good stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoAVwgGncoo
"sounds good, except the vocal style. And it's so off putting for me personally that it ruins the bands sound for me." I hate what that happens, I really do. Be groovin on a good intro...then the vocals come in. And they are bad. Can ruin the whole song in a heartbeat.
Yeps, got to say I still dig that Good moanin' song. Because the vocals are limited haha, and the rest sounds so good. But when they sing, yeah... they're not doing ME a favor
http://youtu.be/J9NzGZsH5h0 This is a great video of what rock is about. I love it when something like this happens.
Has nothing to do with the band, and has everything to do with the kid rockin everyone out.we had been talking about suprises in rock..this is one of them. The spirit lives on..
All I'm saying is I don't think a kid playing a cover song of a parody band is a good example what "Rock is about."
Oh, I do..the energy of it. What the kid did, getting up there and laying it down like that . Cover or not, parody band or not, its about having a good time because of the music. .You might not get it, but some will. The post wasnt intended for this thread anyway..I cant delete it so I will put something else in here when im find something. Unless you want an admin to remove it. Its all conceptual just like everyone keeps saying. My life is about playing rock music, and this the kindof thing that makes it what it is and ehat keeps the spirit alive to ME. You dont like the post ?you dont like my bands ? My ideas ro other contributions? Ignore them.
LOL, pretty sure it's 'Steel Panther'...they are better than some of the bands of the era they are parodying! And yes, to a large degree I believe 'rock' has become a caricature of itself.
I knew the irony wouldnt be lost on you.. yes, they did play better than many. The kid did a good job and the listeners loved it. It was a cool suprise.
