I do not believe in any stretch of the imagination that being straight makes life easier than being homosexual. Straight people still make decisions and have lifestyles that are easily criticized and looked down upon. Being homosexual is something one can choose not to be open about. If you choose to be open about it then you should not have an issue with the criticisms, and they should not bother you. That is a decision you have made. Just like when I make the decision to drive without insurance I can keep it to myself. I choose not to and the things people say to me do not offend or affect me in any way.

I'm not complaining, my life isn't hard at all, but i'm going to disagree with you on that. I shouldn't have to hide my sexuality (I do) to reduce the chances of getting flack for it. Think about growing up as a gay teenager, who can't tell anyone how they are feeling for fear of ostracized. Then later eventually telling your parents, and going through the whole "coming out" bullshit.

I think straight people have it a bit easier. But I guess we shall just agree to disagree.

It's something you chose to accept and live with. I don't know if you were born that way or not, and I could care less. Try telling your parents your profession is selling drugs to kids.....See if they react much better. It's a matter of personal choice. We all have things we could sit down and shut the fuck up about, and if we don't, we have brought the end result upon ourselves.

Again, it's all about the decisions we make and the way we choose to present ourselves to people. See... being straight isn't much easier is it? In a matter of minutes you've sunk to putting down my personality and the way I am..... Guess we're all subject to judgement whether we're homosexual or not.

What? I don't understand. You're saying that he may have been born a homosexual, but then you continue on to say that he has a personal choice to be homosexual or not.

You're heterosexual. Did you make that choice, or are you gonna like girls no matter what happens?

What I said, or atleast what I thought I said, was that he chose to be open and share that with people. If I was ashamed of being heterosexual(not saying he is) or if I was worried about peoples reactions, I would keep it to myself. Like I said though, I've chosen to tell many people things I knew they would not agree with or even dislike about myself and I have accepted their words as their opinion. I also accepted the feelings those words left me with as opposed to complaining about the fact that it is my lifestyle and people shouldn't juge it. We all know that people are going to judge us at one time or another...if we're concerned with the judgement we hide that which we feel they will judge negatively. If we do not, we have made the choice not to, and really have no legittimate complaint about the reaction(judgement).

Well, even though I am a homosexual, I'm still human.

I judge people when they don't think before they speak.

Then why did you judge me? I definately thought about it. Not only as I was typing and revising, but also on previous occasions during similar discussions. Keep in mind I haven't judged you yet. I have nothing against you being homosexual. I just have an issue with you whining and complaining about peoples reactions. Don't like it? Don't be open about it. Period, point fucking blank.

    omg....

ive heard this argument too many times. it makes no sense. yes, anal sex is the easiest way for hiv to be transmitted (blood and breakage)... so yes, id say because of that gay men might have more reason to make sure they use condoms and/or be in a monogamous relationship
HOWEVER, this is by no means a reasonable objection to homosexuality.... maybe to irresonsibility but that goes for straight people to and has nothing to do with gay people that are responsible.
