I assume its due to the fact that you are mixing two types of fermented foods with very unique pungent flavours.

 

It all taste the same on the way out....

Snow peas can be nice with cheese.

Srsly...soy sauce and cheese don't mix..or any of that other shit. They're just too polar on the taste spectrum.

 

Cheese adds flavor to something bland. Chinese food isn't.

Chinese folks don't eat dairy for the most part. Therefore, they just weren't meant to be.

Because italian foods are high in acid and a salty bitter cream is just the ticket to balance the tasting level scales out.

Chinese foods are high in sweetness and salt already, so a creamy melt to a crisp mixture of high plant based sweet sugars is unpleasant. The sweet peas are icky with cheese.
