Racist fucker. You really think if Marijuana was legal and a few immigrants were selling it tax free on the sly that that would fuck up your country. I hate this neanderthal way of looking at things. Man that's extremely far down the list of things that'll fuck up your country, you've just been brainwashed into blaming illegal immigrants for your countries problems. The reason most of them come to your country is cos your country has killed their economy by imposing your free market ideology on them and they can't get jobs. Have a read of a book called One No, Many Yeses by Paul Kingsnorth and you'll know what I'm talking about. Also the reason Marijuana was made illegal in the states in the first place was becuase immigrant workers from Mexico and Black workers were smoking it and banning it was seen as a way suppressing them.

 

The problem with it ever becoming legal again is that nobody in high places wants it legal.

The government can extort 20 billion a year from us because it's illegal.

Drug barons like it illegal because then they can set the price.

I think the legal drive is getting old and boring now. We should jsut push to make possession of under an ounce or something decriminalised.

 

In Missouri, it's legal to smoke it but not legal to possess it. It is becoming very close to being completely legal, thanks to some petitioners in Columbia, which is only an hour from me. They signed to make it decriminalized, but that was rejected, but it didn't matter because their petitioning made a lot of people wake up and see that if they just speak their minds things can change. But like I said, it's very close to being legal in Missouri as far as I've read in newspapers and seen on the local news shows, and a lot of people don't even really get into trouble for possession anymore. I don't smoke it, never have, but I think people should be free to do what they want when it comes to something like that. Yes, maybe some drugs people choose to use do affect other people because of the way the user acts when they are high or whatever, but I think if things like that were legal people would be more responsible with it.

 

I think StonerBill is right, people should just push for decriminalisation for now, but in a way decriminalisation is bad, as people still have to buy of dealers who are still breaking the law, it's contradictary in a way, but it's better than nothing.

The mexiacan sldigers would smoke it before going into battle, and this was tight after the alamo days, we didnt want any mexicans or mexican traits in the country and we knew they wouldnt come here if marijuana was illegal.

 

I want to bring some Jerry Rubin into this. He said keep pot illegal. Alchoholics drink alone and vomit on themselves. Pot heads smoke together and it brings us together. If pot was legal, society would fall. Keeping pot illegal brings people together.

fuck the states, the only reason weed isnt going to become legallized in BC for a while is because of the 2010 Olympics, it will show a bad light on vancouver if it is, but once the olympics have come and gone and the city is jam packed with tourists and ppl moving to BC, it will become legal, i have no doubt about that.

 

Man you have your pipe dreams, but it won't happen for a long time and you see how America bribe Canada to keep it illegal, they could even threaten trade sanctions. That's how they keep it illegal in Asia and all of Africa. I think it sucks as much as the next person but that's just the way it is.

In my opinion, however right or wrong people think it is I feel legalisation will probably happen first in an EU as the US wouldn't be able to try and bully an individual country with sanctions becuase of the single market they would basically have to impose sanction on the entire EU to do so, which even the USA wouldn't be stupid enough to do. The other country where it could happen is Switzerland which isn't in the EU, but has no political ties and is extremely neutral.
