Did you miss according to the Bible....the question was a yes or no answer....

So here we go again... According to the Bible--leaving out all skepticism--are you a sinner? Yes or No...

Hey, I'm not trying to push an issue here, but why are you starting with Magic when we had come to a peaceful conclusion? I had explained that when people witness to others, it's because we have their best interests in mind, which he seemed to accept pretty freely... (Thanks for opening your heart to try to understand my ways, Magic... ;) )

Everyone is a sinner according to the Bible, including you and me. The only difference is, we are sinners saved by grace. That is pretty much universally known. You aren't doing anything beneficial when you provoke people like this. Instead of making people want to know more about Him, you're pushing them away... Please understand that I'm not trying to chastize you, but you're doing the exact opposite of what you're intentions are.

Remember, sweetheart: Salvation is a gift that is freely given when people ask for it. These people in here know where to find it, because we've told them where to go. If they want it, all they have to do is ask.

"Why i dont believe in JesusDiedforU"

You clowns are still at it???

Let's clear this in one sentence.

Jesus didn't die for anyone who's alive right because you weren't even born when they nailed the fucker.

    Now move on.

Oh yes, that was helpful. I'm surprised at you.

You're not usually one to disrespect others beliefs...?
Because you know that the belief that Jesus died for each individual that gets saved is a core belief of Christianity, correct? I just didn't expect something like that out of you...

    I'm disappointed :(

'S okay, I know you didn't mean to! I still love ya! *smooch*

I dunno. I'm in here promoting tolerance on all sides of the religious argument. Because it's not fair for people not to have their beliefs respected, even if we don't agree with them.

Well, you can have your beliefs but, it always turns out in wars when people bring them in a serious way. Back in 1950, it could pass because you HAD to be catholic christian jesus inc. Today though, with the politically correct game, anyone can come up and say anything. They can believe aliens made them, ect ad infinitum...

Very frankly, it's not that I don't believe - it's more like, there nothing to believe in. I'm here, alive, and I don't have to fill in the voided question of - "why"?

Why does it rain? Why does this happen or not? I don't feel the need to to throw in a god or alien or santa claus in there...

Understood. I'm against that, also, so we can agree on something! ;)

Anyone who's actually read the Bible should know that G-d doesn't condone violence as a tool for spreading of His Word.

As for the basis of my beliefs, I do believe in the unknown constant that is the origin of the universe... I just happen to believe that He's shown Himself in the Bible.

According to the bible most people are going to Hell. They think faith in Christ is a joke, they think it's a game. God destroyed the entire earth. He is a serious God. The people of this world are like dumb animals, they laugh at God and His word, they don't have a clue. Christ said that when He returns, most of the world will not be expecting Him. His return will be a nightmare for most people, that will have no end. The signs are here, but this world is so drunk in their sins they can't see them. The Bible teaches that in the last days people will be saying "where is the sign of His comming since our fathers have died all things remain the same since creation." The Jews are back in Israel, Christ return is near. Find Him Before The Great Day Of The Lord Arrives.

Campbell34, You don't scare me.........if that is your intent. It sure sounds like it.

I accept all people of all faiths, and am a member of none. I believe. That is all I will say. Your truths are for you, mine are for me. I accept your faith is true for you, do you accept mine is true for me? I believe all our beliefs are equally valid, and I only disagree with any ones that promote hatred or hurting others.

I don't believe in a Satan, or Hell, or that any one person has the only right answer.
Can't we all be accepted as having the right answer for us, that is love to me.

I don't paint as dismal a picture as other people do, because what others aren't mentioning is that there is hope - if you have the desire to change and not be a part of the evils of this world.

If your faith says, "you're fine just the way you are" - well, you're really missing out on something. I'm sure you've hurt people before and done the wrong thing, 'cause we all have. I'm definitely not excluded...

But, if your faith has the understanding that you are not a perfect being, then I can agree with that. But if you understand that you are a flawed being, you can't stop there, there has to be a way for one to make up for their inequities. This is where Jesus Christ comes into play... G-d loves us even though we are flawed and choose not to live free of evils (which include hatred and hurt), so He made a way for us to be free.

The picture isn't so depressing when you understand that there is hope...
You are the controller of your destiny, however, and that choice is yours to make.

cambell, what brought on the urge to start this thread up again???? this is done. go home.

    but...

    http://www.churchofreality.org/

"The Jews put had to mark their houses by killing a goat or a lamb and smearing the blood around the door so that when God came to kill children, he didn't accidently kill the wrong ones. God's all powerful - but he's easily confused and needs to have things marked so that he doesn't make a mistake. And - God had to be appeased with animal sacrifices or he's going to come kill your children."

I agree with you 100%, this thread was done, we had reached a nice peaceful ending. For once, right? <<giggle>>

However, I must comment on your "Church of Reality" statement...

Jews were enslaved by Egypt, which is a tragedy in itself, and G-d had to prove His power to Pharoah in order for them to be freed.

Marking the doors was to prove obedience and faith, something the Egyptians didn't have. It's not about blood, but belief.

If belief and obediance/loyalty was all there was to it, then perhaps He would have let them mark their doors with chalk instead of blood. He instead made them kill an animal to do it, which means (based on the other answers I've seen posted from Christians on the forums) that His chosen people had to atone for something. According to what I'm reading on these forums, the life of an innocent is needed to atone for the sins of humanity. This is what ritual sacrifice to the deity of Moses was supposed to be about (otherwise I'd think He would have preferred the harvest sacrifice Cain made over the slaughtered lamb sacrifice that Abel made - since the product of the field work certainly represented more long-term labor and intelligence), right? Only the life of an innocent creature could appease Him. Unless, of course, He was simply bloodthirsty.

I wonder what His chosen people were atoning for when they were warding off the angel of death which He sent to kill the Egyptian children? Did He require innocent blood to wash clean the stain of killing so many non-believers' children in one night? I guess that the ignorance those poor children had of Him was enough sin for Him to justify their deaths.

Personally, I think it was just plain mean, and completely unjust. I could never give my love to a deity that killed children because their parents didn't worship Him. I don't think I really understand how anyone could. I think that had I been one of His chosen people, I'd have renounced Him after that night.

well, their God has never been the nice one to begin with. Flooding the earth to kill all the sinners?

I'm sure a few kids were nothing to him. They were sons of sinners afterall. We can't have that.

And chalk is white. God musnt be racist. Red is a good neutral color, because no one is red. Imagine what the other colors would think if God showed favoritism towards white.

Plus, goats are only animals. I'm sure God could make more if he needed to. He managed to make the world, I'm sure he could spare a few goats to decorate doors with.

Good to see you again. You are correct on all counts but one... The blood of an innocent creature isn't to appease Him, it's more of a moral issue. One comes to the understanding that because of our imperfections and sin, an innocent has to die, because that which is imperfect cannot come to exist in the realm of the perfect (Heaven). It's really supposed to discourage sinning. The thing I was refuting is the idea of G-d needing the blood so He wouldn't be confused... That is the issue that was not about blood, but about faith.

The enslavement of the nation of Israel was supposed to help rejuvenate their faith, because as a people who are supposed to love and follow their G-d, they tended to slack off. One is supposed to have faith through all trials, because trials are the process by which we become stronger, more useful human beings. Instead of going to G-d and praying for freedom, many Jews cursed Him or tried worshiping other g-ds.

And it does seem cruel to kill non-believers children, but notice how Exodus Chapter 1 points out the the Jews actually outnumbered the Egyptians... Pharoah was making many suffer needlessly, because he was afraid of their myriad masses. Also notice that G-d sent many other plagues to try to convince Pharoah to let the Jews go, the Angel of Death was the last one to be sent when all else failed. Because of Pharoah's hardened heart, many Egyptian children lost their lives so many more Jewish children could have a life... Because of Pharoah's choices, the Passover took place, and Pharoah lost his firstborn. Don't be too discouraged, children are free from the requirements adults have for salvation, so they have peace in Heaven because they are innocent till they're teens (by Jewish law, that is).

And again, I'm personally sorry that you feel this way, but if you had a deeper understanding of the culture that we're discussing, you'd perhaps see it differently. It's like reading half of a book... if you don't have the whole story, it's not gonna make a whole lot of sense. ;)

Yes. Because I really am Jesus. Bow before me.

I just had a good idea for a club. A religious strip club. Called "Heaven". What do you think? All the girls could dress in white, and they could sell drinks like "Bloody Jesus" and "Moses Colada", and of course "Noah's Rain". Priests could run it and collect money at the door, so when you entered, you will be "saved", and all your sins would be gone. Stripping is a gift afterall, not a sin.

That reminded me of something, during the crusades, if you went you got a free ticket to heaven no matter what. Maybe they should start doing that again with the iraq war?
