Why I don't argue/debate Christians anymore

Forgive me, but I'm not even sure what you are talking about. But the Bible states that we should test the Spirits to see if they are of God or the Devil. Not every miracle comes from God, and if that is the case, do you know how to test the Spirits?

 

I agree we must pollution is something that we need to definately work on. However, abortion would be so much easier to stop and is by far killing people way more than poulltion has. Pollution is the lesser of two evils by far.

Look at this stat... There has been about 50 million abortion in America and only 3% of all abortion are in America. The rest of the world makes up 97% of the abortion. Abortion: a worldwide murder.

 

Well you can spend a who life time worrying about the enviroment, but this world does not have that much time. And it will not be the enviroment that destroy's the world. Christ states that if it were not for His coming man would destroy Himself. I'm one person, and I do as much as one man can do to make the world a better place. The greatest pollution is sin. And it will be sin that brings this world to the edge of destruction. And I believe you tend to generalize me as well, especially when you say if I don't support people who care about the enviroment. I first have to deal with the obvious killings first, and that is abortion. When Democrats come out and say woman should not murder there children, then I will consider the enviroment.

 

well i will put my time into caring for the environment because i want to save a dying earth for our future generations. well chrsit better come pretty soon, as the world looks ready to collapse before him. You may be right, but however as i have not accepted that yet then i will try and defend what i think will destroy this planet.

i personally do not like abortion, however at cetain levels, i don not think it is as serious as murder as you make out, it is how you determine life. if a women chooses to have an abortion then is it not them who has murdered and will have to deal with your punishement of hell. Why make it illegal?? people still murder even though that is illegal. how about the rest of sins? do you want america to be a therocracy? why not force people to love their neighbour? because you can't force somebody to do something

 

also making abortion illegal will not stop abortion, when abortions were banned in Ireland, people set up ships in the ocean where its illegal because of international waters, and as it was legal in england. they will always happen, whether you deem it right or not

 

You can compare Hitler to the same idea. He did not do all the killing but he made the choice... but as long as he did not physically do it it is okay... right?

Imagine if murder was not illegal, how many more murders would we have. People would be scared to go outside. Everyone would be paranoid, trying not to get on anyone's bad side. Therefore, making murder illegal has greatly made the world a safer place. To bad we cannot help those who cannot speak for themselves.

 

therefore what about the rest of the sins? why are they not subject to govenment laws. the reason is that the US is not a theocracy. my first point was made to why that was the one voting point- the fact of a law that would be broken anyway, and you can't force morality on people.

you see i actaully think most humanas are naturally good and do have compassionate, i do not think people are murdering animals because of we were by nature, then God therefore created us to be so, so it wouldn't be wrong.

 

Back before Abortion became legal the arguement went, we need to legalize abortion for those rare cases when a choice will have to be made between mother and child. See, I recall this arguement. Back in the early 60's illegal abortions numbered in the thousands. Now thanks to legalized abortion America kills about one million children a year. Yes laws do make a difference. Today, abortion is a big business industry, where doctors can bring in millions of dollars by killing inocent children. America went from a nation that killed 10s of thousands to hundreds of thousands, and almost over night. I believe this one sin alone is why God in the Old and New Testament speaks of the judgement that will fall on America. And this is why the Bible states that all of our cities will be burning and America will come to her end in one hours time.

 

I don't see the compassion here in this country. I see fifty million dead American children, where's all that compassion? The Bible clearly states what is going to happen to America, and it clearly states that are demise will be brought about by God's judgement.

 

if i am honest, i do too believe that abortion has gone way too far, however this alone should not be a voting point to vote for a very anti-christian ideology. Didn't God kill unborn children in the Bible? and according to many christians these children will not go to hell, so you maybe saving them before they get a chance to sin and pay the price for eternity .

you may be right with the whole prophecy thing, but it won't just be about abortion why America has gone so low, there is the death penalty, the destruction of the worlds economy, environement, however all of these things have happened in the past to other nations also

 

God gives life and God takes life, and God is in a position to do that. Yet humans are commanded by Him not to. In the prophecies that speak of America in Jermiah, God calls us arrogant and proud. He states that these people are hard pressed against the Holy God of Israel. Abortion or the taking of innocent life is about as bad as a nation can get. Yet God states or nations sins are as high as the heavens. In the years ahead God states that Northern nations shall rise up against America. And God states even though are nation builds up the height of our strength, still the Northern nations will destroy us.
And the prophecies state all of our cities will burn and our end will come in one hours time.

abortion is as bad as a nation can get -i think we are a bit more civilised at present then humans have ever being, this is not bad compared to the atrocities of the past. why do you keep using the God of Israel- why is it not a God for all. these are of cause your interpretation of the prophecies, maybe America is not Babylon and will not be destroyed, maybe it is a long time off yet if at all.

As i have said before, i may be wrong and i will admit when these cities are destroyed in exactely one hour and i see them for myself.

Is God living under the standard of 'do as i say, not as i do'? God created all, not just the good things, God created humans to sin, God created us to do all these bad things! and we to be punished for Gods intentions

GOD USED THE JEWS TO WRITE AND PRESERVE THE BIBLE. GOD USED THEM BECAUSE HE KNEW THEY WOULD PRESERVE THEIR TRADITIONS WHERE OTHERS MAY NOT OF. GOD WILL USE THE JEWS TO REVEAL WHO HE IS AT THE END OF TIME. AND THE JEWS WILL BE JUST AS SURPRISED AS THE REST OF THE WORLD WHEN THIS HAPPENS. GOD NEVER CREATED MAN TO SIN, BUT TO SERVE HIM. YET MAN WITH HIS FREE WILL MOST ALWAYS DID THE OPPSITE OF WHAT GOD WANTED.

GOD HAS STATED THAT THE GENERATION THAT SAW ISRAEL RETURN AS A NATION, WOULD NOT PASS AWAY, UNTIL ALL END PROPHECIES WOULD BE FULFILLED. ISRAEL BECAME A NATION IN 1948. WHEN GOD RETURNS TO THIS WORLD, THERE WILL STILL BE PEOPLE ALIVE ON THE EARTH WHO WERE BORN IN THE YEAR 1948.

 

Its kind of dangerous to give something as farfetched as this such a pressing deadline. Dont you think its important to keep your ambiguous prophecies in the air in regards to when they *will* actually occurr?

 

There are two references in the Old and New Testaments to the time. They both match. As a Christian I feel people need to know the truth of these prophecies. Hiding the truth is not the way to go. God put these time lines in the Bible so people would know.

That if one cannot show how science is a valid method for obtaining knowledge, then he cannot know if it is valid or not. And if he cannot know if it is valid, yet he continues to act as if it is valid, than he is displaying faith that the method is valid. The point was to answers Shane99X’s challenge by showing how even an atheist displays faith.

I tend to refer to this as blind faith, or even stupidity. Christianity does not deal in this.

It’s evident that you don’t fully understanding what’s being discussed here (and I’m far from being the best at explaining things) I had always loved studying science, especially as a child. I believe I even wanted to make a career out of it at one point when I was younger. But, things change and the real world has a funny way of knocking some sense into your head, making one realize that he probably isn’t the best candidate for some of his dreams. Anyway, your knowledge of the specifics of sciences may very well be better then my own, however it important that you realize we’ve left the realm of science and are now dealing in philosophy. Specifically we’re dealing with epistemology and metaphysics, and it would help if you had a working understanding of these topics. A Heart surgeon doesn’t perform coronary artery bypass grafting in order to gain knowledge about the universe, he simply does it to fix his patience. A scientific experiment, on the other hand, is done to gain knowledge; to form some sort of conclusion about the state of something. So the question is: how can the scientific method be shown to be a valid process for obtaining true knowledge about the universe? If your answer is, “The results! Just look at the stuff science has done” you’re simply begging the question. That is, you’re being circular. It would be like you asking me how I knew God existed, and I replied “The proof is in the puddin’ Just look around at all He has designed!” If I said this, I would already be assuming what I was trying to prove.

Anyway, the answers I’m still looking for which nobody has been able to answer are:

2. Non-fallaciously show how induction (which science depends on) is a valid method for obtaining true knowledge about the universe. With regards to this one, here is a quote from an atheist philosopher Bertrand Russell:

This is called affirming the consequent, and it is a fallacy. Like saying “If an animal is a dog, then it has four legs. This animal has four legs, therefore it is a dog!” But of course, this argument isn't sound since the animal could be one of the many other animals that have four legs. But This is exactly how science proceeds.

3. Non-fallaciously show how it is logical to assume that since A has always followed B in the past, that A will continue to follow B in the future.

Going off David Hume, we could affirm that our knowledge of A following B in the past comes from unbroken human experience and testimony. That makes sense. However, from where comes our confidence that A will follow B in the future? If our knowledge about A following B in the past comes from the evidence of human testimony and experience, from where comes our supposed knowledge of the future? According to Hume, there is way to know. This is why science is in a constant state of flux.
