I've had significant weight loss through careful planning and execution. "What's your secret?" I keep getting asked. I say that I don't restrict WHAT I eat, but I DO restrict how MUCH I eat. "How do you do that?" they then ask. "I weigh and measure EVERYTHING that I eat. It either hits a food scale, a measuring spoon, or a measuring cup before I will eat it. Sometimes -- as a last resort -- I will measure something (consumable food, that is) with a tape measure." I then write it down and total the calories. "Oh, I could never do that!" "That's crazy." "That's OCD." "Who does something like that?" If you ask these same people if they had had a science lab class in school, most of them will say yes. So they know what a pipette is, or an eye dropper, or a scale. All of these tools are in my kitchen and are easily/readily available. I shrug. Fine. I'll lose the weight and you won't be OCD. Oh, happy days!
