Why do you only get offered help in a store if they think ur stealing?

Every time I go into one of those little pharmacies they think I'm stealing. Just now I went into one and she comes up to me straight away asks what I need help with. Nah man, if I really needed help you would just ignore me. So I told her I was lookin for some shit they didnt have and she said they don't have it so I continued to look around. I was looking at all the little bottles of tinctures an stuff and she rushed into the aisle behind me and then said $5.49 to act like she was doing a price check then I think she lingered there pretending to look at something else on the shelf but to be honest that's when I got the fuck out of there cuz dat shit makes me nervous for real. I don't like that shit, it makes me unconfortable you know. I wasn't even gonna try and steal anything.

I don't wanna be helped anyway cuz a lot of times I just go in a store just to see what they got and I'll look at everything in there. Sometimes I go in a store and don't really know what I want yet but I know I'm gonna buy a few things but haven't decided yet. It's called shopping, can you help me shop? Something about pharmacies though, they always wanna help me. What should I say, "I just wanna check out your cough syrup selection and any interesting tinctures you might have?" Lol

I was just wearing a regular leather jacket with my skully on, no hood up. Maybe it's cuz I came in there with a bunch of other bags and shit from other stores i'd been in and I coulda easily picked something small up off the shelf then just kinda let it drop down into one of the bags while I'm goin to "put it back" but idk a lot of people have lots of bags? Small stores seem to try and help you more than big box stores, maybe cuz they are more worried about shrink and big stores really don't have to even worry about it. I know sometimes the same item will be twice as much as it is at a "mom and pop" store...sometimes. So I could steal half of their whole stock of that item, and return all of them for a refund and it still wouldn't fuck them over.

 

You're probably stealing. Just admit to it. God will forgive you.

 

That never happens to me. I guess I don't look like the stealing type. But whenever I do need help, I can never find anyone lol

 

This never happens to me. If it did, I wouldn't pay attention to it. I do my own thing.

 

It has happened to me plenty of times and I've never stolen a single thing in my entire life. Not even when I was little.

Mine is usually based on my appearance. It used to happen a lot more when I was in the middle of my punk rock heyday. When I "looked the part" so to speak. The way I dressed, funky hair, piercings and tattoos get you followed pretty quickly. I would always try to be nice to the person so they could see I wasn't there to be shady or an asshole but if they continued to follow me I would leave. I'm not going to give any place like that my business.

i don't know, everyone always tries to help me except for when i need help.

 

I just let them help me with something obscure I know they don't have.

 

You should even go a step further and tell a manager that you're being made to feel uncomfortable. Employees are there to help and keep an eye on the store but they shouldn't be so blatantly watching certain people as if they were shoplifters.

 

Sometimes they just want to show they available for any help you may need as to where items can be found in store or what you are maybe wanting to buy. Some stores have product direction staff just inside the doorway to save customers spending ages looking around the store for what they want. That can be helpful in the large stores.

 

Actually a few weeks ago my friend and I went to a craft store and I was being an asshole. I found all of these ugly birds with feathery tails with clips so I was putting a bunch of them in my hair. (keep in mind I was 34 years old. Not a kid) This old bitch that works there came up to my friend and I as we were standing there laughing and she said really rudely "Can I help you find anything?" Basically telling us she didn't appreciate our fun. I just laughed at her and said "No thanks. I think I've found everything I'm looking for" while I had 3 birds clipped in my hair. She just stood there in the aisle 'organizing' things 2 feet behind us. Nobody is allowed to have any fun anymore.

 

I would probably leave a store if that happened as I would feel uncomfortable and take my business somewhere else.

A few days ago I had bought an energy drink but it hadn't been in the refrigerator so I walked into a store that had a refrigerator with energy drinks in it. I had a bunch of bags and the energy drink was in the bottom of one of the bags but I didn't know which one. So I start making a space in the refrigerator for my drink and digging thru the bags till I find it then stick it in the refrigerator. The guy looked at me weird and maybe asked what am I doing. I told him I'm just gonna use the refrigerator real fast so I can cool my energy drink down some. It was a Chinese guy and he was like "no no no, I don't know what u doing" and the look on his face man, I couldn't help but chuckle a bit. So not wanting to go against his wishes I took the energy drink back out and put it back in the bag, hoping the cold weather would have it a little cooler soon but that didn't work enough. He probably thought I stole one of those energy drinks.

 

So Why Did You Buy The Warm Can In The First Place....
