False. Jesus' birth was made to coincide with the pagan Yule in order to make conversions from paganism to Christianity easier. In fact, all so-called Christian holidays derive in one form or another from religions that existed before Christianity.

In answer to the original post, I do not hate Christmas. I merely do not celebrate it or any other Christian related holidays.

 

Not false at all. The celebration we call christmass is about the birth of Jesus wether it was predated by a pagan holiday or not.

 

It is too false when it is a well known fact that Jesus was not even born on the day people celebrate as Christmas.

 

I don't see how that makes what christmass is about any different?

 

I will not celebrate a holiday based on a mythology for which I have absolutely no affability.

essentially just because all my academic work is concentrated over the christmas break and its fucking freezing. nothing against the day though.
