I'm going on about hypocrisy, apparently most don't give a shit about it. I should probably just be quiet and go watch tv
If you mean by right, a correct assessment of reality, I agree. Flattery and criticism are both vain assessments. By vain, I mean without objective substance.
My own opinion is that no one is to blame for a person health but that person themselves. The only exception I have is if it is a genetic condition or a condition that is a direct correlation to exposure to something that the risks were not known and later determined to be a health risk. Having said that, it does not give me the right to then sit in judgment on who is deserving of treatment. Or who is worthy of compassion. That would then be based upon my bias. Human nature does look for somewhere to lay the blame as it is a coping mechanism that we have for dealing with what is at times. For some people that is all that stands between them and sanity. You can not make someone else healthy nor can you make them choose wisely. If pointing fingers, for lack of a better term, worked, this would be solved. It does not work. There is no conspiracy here. It is a case of our own sense of immortality. We never truly believe that we are going to be in that percentile that will not survive or live a long life despite our stupidity.
Did you really? lol Criticism is only in vain when one is attributing problems to a select group, or as you said, assessing problems in a way that is not correct with what reality has shown. I.e- Overweight people and smokers "suck up" more of the health care system than others. That's not necessarily true. Fact of the matter is children do. Go ahead and throw! Good, Fuck them! Let them have their complacent state of mediocrity. I'll fling shit and words if I damn well choose to. Since when did it become a bad thing to point out our own flaws? Only the ego would get in the way of someone realising this. It isn't my fault people are too comfy with their media, that they don't like hearing how we're all assholes. No one wants to think that THEY are the problem. It's too upsetting. But it's the truth. We ALL contribute to the problems of society. Don't like it? Too bad! (Ahh...I feel better. By "them" I'm referring to people in general, no one specifically for the record).
Yes. I would hope that the people here who know me would already know that I'm a hypocritical asshole before I stated it.
