why do some ppl not text back on certain number you text from but will text you on other numbers. its weird. why do some people call you but won't accept a call from a different numbert. its like they think its different people but its not.

its annoying cuz i actually can't use my phone right now cuz the button that unlocks the screen is broke so id have to text myself to wake it up and now the phone turned off and thats also the same button that turns it on.

c what i mean? so i have to text that way. but y does somebody call me and i can't answer then when i return the call using a different # they dont answer

some ppl text me from different #s 2 at least answer the call or text back to find out who that number is ??

idk I get weird calls on my phones sometimes, where no one talks, but I am never interested enough to reverse call or anything. I figure it is just some loser playing games again....or checking to see if anyone is here....

My world is pretty straightforward so I have a low tolerance for much else.

I don't answer my phone if I don't recognize the number, usually. Unless it is a local area code.

i don't even HAVE a phone. i may get one again someday. to check the time and play tetris on it while waiting for the bus. that's pretty much all i ever used it for when i did. and what they want for the damd things just isn't worth it. i've got computer. i've got e-mail. someone needs to get ahold of me, they can send me one when they feel like it and i can answer them when i feel like it. and every spook shop in the world can read it just the same. so why should i need with needlessly expensive phone contracts and 'numbers'.

I hate talking on the phone. I rarely answer for friends so definitely not going to answer if its a weird number I don't know. I don't know how people survived before caller id.

Laughing cos this is the first trend I read and can relate. I just received a missed call from an unrecognised number. Think I rather know who is calling before I answer. I dislike shooing someone away if its not convenient to chat from a sales person to someone more meaningful to me.

Im sorry your phone is being a nightmare atm.

Without reading this whole thread... if you're talking about drug related calls/texts... then I totally get the number issue. If not, then shrugs.
(w that type of not legal stuff I have run into that more times than not unless I'd tell someone I'd be calling/texting on a diff number)
Otherwise... Idk, I hate the phone. Calls that is. If someone calls me I usually text them back.

i imagine they would have to ask "who's calling" lol:). its not like 'orangeboxing' wasn't already around when people started to get caller id (setting a fake # to display on CID;)) its just done VoIP now (aka asterisk in linux)

i find texting is the future of communication. you can have a conversation with multiple people with texing and its instantaneous. i notice that if i'm having a voice call w/ someone its hard to text or chat at the same time.

heh, you really dont even need cell service to make and receive both texts and voice calls. a smart phone w/ wifi and ur set, at least in the city where theres lots of wifi. of course you have to make sure ur connected as you travel .. so it is easier to make the calls than to receive, which means returning missed calls lol. i dont have 4g on my tablet but theres plenty of apps.

only bad thing about texting is its logged, so you have to rely on the resonsibility of the receiving party to delete certain messages and thread when necessary, which is worse than a chat room which doesn't store every line on each device and public logging is generally looked down upon

I guess it just really depends on the person and who they are talking to.

you do know that even when they delete the message, it's still out there, either hidden in their phone or at least accessible to the phone company..

    of course i kno this lol, sometimes it doesn't matter tho ;}

IRC chat .. nope, and even if they wanted to serve a server w/ a subpoena for records (wow that sounded strange) .. theres so many of them, plus they gotta at least know where to start looking...good luck to all in that quest, i'll be at the sidelines cheering while you work a shitty fuckin job tryin' to catch the people that are far smarter than you even wish you were !!:):):)
