No, he raised himself smart. He's a really cool guy. It's too bad we don't ever talk anymore though.

 

I had the very same dicussion in my American Lit class yesterday about how we were "raised to hate." It seemed a little strange to me that everyone was agreeing with one another and saying that they were raised to "not talk to strangers" and hate people they don't know. I found it also strange that I was raised the opposite from them: when I was little I was scared of men with beards and my mom said to me, "Don't judge them Shawna. I want you to love everyone you meet until you get to know them better, then you can decide if they have a good heart. For all you know they could end up being your best friend. Besides, how are you going to make friends if you don't talk to strangers??" I love that woman.

 

I chill with alot of punk kids/metalheads (theres no one else in this town i can really get along with)...so maybe it just depends on where you are. around here, its the jocks against everyone else...except the jocks suck at sports...so theyre a joke anyway

 

I noticed that, actually. Jocks are a dieing breed- or at least- we're all praying that they are.

I'm friends with a lot of hippies, but I'm also friends with a lot of punks, rockers, nerds... I think that everyone who isn't a jock/preppy are pretty open minded- minus that one girl in Boston that i met- lol.

Now that I'm in college, things are a bit different, though- I'm friends with everyone now

I believe the whole original intention of thisthread was to discuss stereotypes... and why "punks" hated hippies- now... if you dislike what I had to say- you might want to go all the way back to the root of the thread - because I wasn't the one who though it up, I was just voicing my opinoin

Well, I might not - but my original intention was to discuss that topic- not to offend anyone- I'm sorry if I did... I was personally just telling you who I hugn out with and how it didn't bother me- my friends label themselves that way - and the jocks liek to call themselves jocks- and in my experience, none of them have been nice people- it's not that i don't respect people who play sports... because I don't play sports myself- I have SO MUCH respect for a person who can play sports... but they've never been nice to me- maybe that will change- but in my experience, it hasn't. I'm sorry fi I ended up makign anyone mad- that wasn't my intention
