This is a pretty good book relating to what we are sort of discussing here... http://www.gregorysams.com/uncommon-sense.html
It happens... no biggie really. We have differing perspectives on the problem so it's arguable that we couldn't possibly see it from the exact same perspective- I'm a poorly traveled American who's just starting to grasp how limiting my culture can be. The thing is that it's only as limiting as I allow it to be- there are volumes of remedial education needed for me to gain any sort of perspective outside the political boundaries I'm stuck in. I have no doubt I'd profit from reading the book you recommended.
most of our client's turn themselves in because they are tired of running from it. They also think that its a "mitigating factor"... uhm, NOT!! haha
I just watched Harry Brown. Sort of related to the discussion we're having here about scumbags and the filth and all that. Really great film. Michael Caine plays an old guy living in a run down scheme in south london, young miscreants running amok and making everyone's life miserable, pretty violent and grimey stuff. In the end he has enough and turns into a "The Equalizer" style vigilante. 10/10 on every count for this film, the best british film I have seen in years. A quote from a police officer when they realise Mr Brown is going to top of one of the local miscreants - "His dad was a ****, and one day he'll give birth to a load of cunty kids, he'll be doing us all a favour"
Eric Rudolph was on the run for about 5 years. If you stock up on food and have some sympathizers to help you, you can stick it out a while. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Robert_Rudolph .
Yep- pretty much- except replace the fabled sword with a fugitive from justice warrant; but yeah... Of course if you REALLY fucked up your picture might be aired on the Televigilante Channel, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, CBNMSNBCNN, Hudafuqnoze Channel, printed in gnu spapers, and hanging in Post Orifices-- that proverbial sword would be slowly swinging by a proverbial thread. You'd have the choice of turning yourself in or have your suicide by police aired nationally, live. if you worked it just right you might actually be able to market as a media commodity your spectacular apprehension as a breaking news story. Oh to imagine the sponsorships...
And if you don’t mind doing some dumpster diving for the evening meal you can tough it out for a while :ack2: Hotwater
What was Rudolph doing behind a Save-A-Lot store at 4 am. From the Wiki article: "Rudolph was arrested in Murphy, North Carolina, on May 31, 2003,[13] by police officer Jeffrey Scott Postell of the Murphy Police Department behind a Save-A-Lot store at about 4 a.m.; Postell, on routine patrol, had originally suspected a burglary in progress.[14]" .
And for that matter, what were people thinking when making a hero of the guy? Wiki: "It is thought that Rudolph had the assistance of sympathizers while evading capture. Some in the area were vocal in support of him. Two country music songs were written about him and a locally top-selling T-shirt read: "Run Rudolph Run." The Anti-Defamation League noted that "extremist chatter on the Internet has praised Rudolph as 'a hero' and some followers of hate groups are calling for further acts of violence to be modeled after the bombings he is accused of committing."[7]" .
