Why do people find themselves so smart?

    The ignorance and arrogance that humanity generally shares results in our delusion that we are 'all that'. We are the creators of the definition of 'smart', and then, of course, we epitomize the concept. In the whole web of life, we are one strand, as Chief Seattle said, we did not weave the web. It is stupidity that is the source of our boasting about our 'smarts'. If we were so smart, we'd have a sustainable system by now. I don't find us very smart at all. Maybe on an individual basis, but as a whole... we are very, very stupid, in my opinion.
