It helps you relax first. I suppose some people could (and do) act silly without it, but not everyone can let go that easily. Younger people tend to overdo it at first, and hopefully they figure it out before something bad happens to them or they become alcoholics. I personally don't like to drink too much. Relaxing, good. Out-of-control, bad.
HOnestly I dont really like alcohol. bc Usually I feel cracked out the next day, it is fun the first day but not so fun when I feel like an crackhead the next day, plus I always get so depressed the next day, the comedown is really nasty for me. I only drink when I have nothing else to use, and I need to relax. Most of the time now when I drink I dont get drunk so I wont have the cracked out feeling, just enough for the taste of something yummy, but not for getting drunk.
Eh, I had to quit vodka. Going from Vodka to whiskey has a story behind it. Going from Whiskey to vodka is just alcoholism
I have often wondered why people indulge in alcohol, especially when hugging the porcelin lookin' for a Buick ,after a night of indulgence. Glad I quit.
I had a few real rough experiances where I drank way too much and got into a good deal of trouble. I went to one AA meeting, said "fuck that, I'm just not gonna drink like an asshole" Ever since, I've been able to drink responsibility and have always had a good time. The key is to make rules for yourself and follow them. here are mine. 1. Don't drink my yourself 2. Portion shots/glasses of liquor and be mindful of how much you've drank. 3. Don't drink when depressed or angry 4. Don't drink to get fucked up, get a good buzz then just drink to maintain it. 5. Drink in good company Haven't had a problem, and knowing I have no problem doing something that used to get me in trouble with such self-control and responsible willpower is pretty good for self-confidence.
Word for word, the same thing happened to me. Just my mum had me see a therapist twice and I didn't go to AA. I fucked her off though 'cos I figured I could kick a problem by myself and I did. In saying that, I like gin. A simply gin and lemonade is preferred to vodka.
