Why do ambulances always take off you’re socks

so yesterday I got hit by a car and they took my socks and you guys know how I’m foot shy.
I felt so embarrassed.

 

Are you ok? Did they put you back in the ambulance and take you to the hospital?

 

do they "always" take off your socks or is this assumption based on just one incident?

i would think it would depend on the injury.

They are removed to check for any abnormal brain function. It's called the Babinski reflex. A hard object is ran up from the base of the heel to the top of the sole. If the toes scrunch downward then that is considered a normal reflex action.

 

I put it back on and this other nurse kept taking it off to feet my pulse on the side of the feet

 

Thank you and yes I was in the back of the ambulance and I just fractured my knee and ankle and got a big bruise on my foot Now I have to walk barefoot home

I think so. All the things you imagine they can do while you're k.o. are happening.

 

That's what I was afraid of when I was foot shy, especially if it was a female looking at my feet.

wait, so you broke your knee and ankle and the EMTs responded by stealing your footwear and making you walk home?

you could argue that they're doing you a favor by forcing you to go barefoot in public. sometimes the best way to overcome a fear is to face it head on.

 

Actually, it's pretty fucking hilarious if OP's biggest fear was having his bare feet seen... Only to be hit by a car and forced to walk home with an exposed foot. It's like a toned down version of being naked in a dream. Except this actually happened.

 

I am more bothered by "you're socks"
