When I was a kid I would love to go on aol chat rooms and talk with random people. so a few years ago when hs ended I decided to go down memory lane with ma ass and go into a chat room it was so lame so I googled chats or some shit and found this. I liked the colors so I joined it was different back then a whole different batch of people but cool. I was on for a summer but when college started I couldn't be bothered and forgot my password. last year sometime in the spring I was really bored in class and realized I could get it emailed to me so I did and here I am lol
The forums I was on before was *too* intellectual. You couldn't make the slightest dumbass comment without getting called on it
I was looking for information on LSD and possible ways to obtain it..Never got to try it. P.S. I wanted to make a new topic with the same question, but its more fun to necropost
I joined back in the '80s, when most of the posting was done by mail. I remember writing down all interesting threads and replying to them with colored markers and then send them to all other posters. At one point there were about 50 members, so every time I wanted to make a reply I had to send letters to all of those 50 people. I am so glad when internet came and we could post online!
So how would you get banned in the 80s ? Would they have tied your hand behind your back to keep you from writing? ban you form the post office
They would use Tipp-Ex on your writing and send the letter back to you. Back in the 80's we used to get the hint and impose a 14-day self ban.
I was looking for info about the psychedelic 60´s and via Jimi Hendrix,Woodstock and the Merry Pranksters I landed on this site. The music forum was pretty active in 2004 and in general there was a lovely peaceful vibe, perhaps a few trolls here and there but far less than on other site´s that I was visiting at the time and nobody really got on my nerves.
I had a page on Hippyland first, then I told my cousin about it and she found Hipforums, so I joined here and so did a whole bunch of our friends - pretty sure I am the only one who still posts here though.
It was 04, and I was using a lot of drugs. So I would say it is safe to assume it was something drug related.
i think it was because id just started getting stoned and there was a really informative/active stoner section here which seemed a lot friendlier than a lot of sites where that was the only topic for discussion. didnt stay for long though, came back for the rave stuff when was into that, then stuck about, left, came back as a distraction from work.
I initially joined HF because I was researching trichocereus pachanoi and other mescaline-containing cacti in 2005. Somehow, during my research, I stumbled across the psychedelic forums and signed up.
So did I 19 year old sexually liberated hippie-chicks with long hair, wearing cut-off denim short-shorts, tie-dye tee shirts, sandals, flower-power & peace sign pendants, with posters of jimi Hendrix covering their bedroom walls :2thumbsup: hotwater
I saw some dancing hippies at a drum circle I stumbled upon once and I thought they were interesting so I randomly googled hippy for the hell of it which took me to hippie.com and from there I found the forums. This was when I was 19 and the political forums were much more active. They offered me a different perspective so I lurked around a year or two, then came back a few years later out of boredom and finally made an account.
i mugged a guy and took his knapsack...this website was on his laptop it was easy because he was in a wheelchair
