Interesting point made about why people who leave Communist countries become Republicans in the U.S.

I'm not much of a tube-viewer, but I'm a reader. Can you summarize what was said?

People who have experienced Communist systems tend to want to get away from that once in the U.S. So they may end up favoring Republican policies over liberal big gov't policies which may remind them too much of the leftist system they're fleeing.

Even in Communist countries, there is always a dissident, lumpen element that want to be world dictators themselves !!!

All the news channels are biased in their own ways.

I know there's an Indiana congresswoman, unfortunately I forget her name offhand, who grew up under Communism and later became a Republican in the US because she thought the Republicans were the major party more clearly distinguishable from Communists.

Has anyone ever heard how Soviet people view countries like Norway? Are there any people from the Soviet Union living in any Scandinavian countries?

Or maybe it's because the authoritarian Republican Putin-lovrers remind them a lot of the system they experienced back home in Russia.

But Fox is MUCH more biased than the others--to the point that it can't seriously be considered to be a legitimate news agency. It was founded by notorious purveyor of yellow journalism, Rupert Murdoch, and by disgraced sex offender Roger Ailes to spread right wing propaganda. Its faulty sourcing of news and dissemination of conspiracy theories puts it in a class by itself.

It does seem that most people in Florida who come over from Cuba tend to vote Republican. I think it goes tot eh idea that Republicans have set themselves up as the more anti-Communist party.

People find comfort with the familiar. Economic theories aside, the autocracy, authoritarianism, and corruption offered by the G.O.P. (Greed, Oppression, & Piety) must look awfully familiar to them.

Many of those people are refugees from Castro's overthrow of the right-wing Batista dictatorship. Naturally, they're anti-commie and pro the party then associated with wealth and privilege.
