Why can't non-pot heads see the shit we do?

i dont think you have to be high to understand WEEDS better.. its not a show about being high.. its a show about selling pot.. that would be like saying "you wouldn't understand Sopranos if you aren't italian or in a gang/mafia"

 

I knew just what a marijuana high would be like way before I ever got high. I just imagined what it would be like from descriptions I heard/seeing people on (or acting like they're on) marijuana.
I sorted out the obvious bullshit, and compiled a near perfect rendering.

People don't always believe me when I say that. It's still true.

When I was younger, I was flipping through the Sunday comics with my best friend. He said his brother told him you can't really understand Dilbert unless you've worked in an office. I told him I understood it. He proceeded to argue with me - he never worked in an office =P

 

they don't get it because they're brainwashed conservatives who are closeminded and so are their parents probably. If they experianced cannabis they'd truly understand what it's like. people that say oh i've never smoked b4 but i know how it feels or what it does it stupid. Knowledge is gained through experiance (empiricism)

 

maybe your imagination isnt vivid enough to accurately portray things as you think they may be.

and duck, I had the same issue with alcohol. I smoked weed since i was 13, but never got drunk til i was 18. I used to always imagine what it would be like to be drunk, and when i did eventually get drunk, it was almost exactly what i expected.

 

I don't do Vicodin, but I still enjoy watching House MD

This is the real point. If you deal or have dealt on a real level, you will have a hard time enjoying Weeds because it is super un-realistic.

 

The only thing a non-smoker would understand about the show is the main plotline. They probably wont get the stoner jokes, which is probably the part that the OP is trying to convey.

I mean I watched How I Met Your Mother with my brother (who has never smoked bud in his life). He laughed a lot, but I laughed harder on that episode in which "sandwiches" were involved. He didnt get it at all.

 

with some people you learn to not bother wasting your breath, they'll never get your point because they will never toke, its just the way it is sometimes i wouldn't worry about it. i amazed people watch the show who don't smoke pot. half my stoner buddies don't even like it, i think its because it follows an actual storyline so you have to see all the episodes in the right order. but i do agree, most people who don't smoke probably don't get it in the sense we tokers do. shit happens

Referring to the post he was originally responding to, my girlfriend is an open minded liberal, only smoked once and still doesn't know what it's like to be high (apparently she forgot). So I don't think it's all because they are brain washed closed minded conservatives =)

Also, seeing how both me and Death, have experienced the drugs that we predicted the feelings of, and can confirm that we correctly predicted it - the later part of your post, also doesn't hold true.

 

how bout this if you havent smoked pot don't pretend to know what it does...same with alcohol, tripping, rolling and etc. you can only fully understand what any of it does to you when you experience it.

There are people out there that don't have to pretend. There are people out there that can accurately predict how various situations would affect them.
Such experiences for me:
Going to college
Being in a serious relationship
Being drunk (though, I couldn't predict being black-out drunk)
Most every movie (with some exceptions)
Using one of those vibrating ring sex toys (I knew it was going to make me feel like a dildo, sure enough, made me feel like a dildo)
Being stoned

 

well duh, you prepare for college before you go. relationships happen to us all, we learn from others as well. same with being drunk and stoned you get the jist of what it does before you do it. almost everyone can predict what those will do, but eat and 8th of boomers like i did when i was 15 and unprepared and you will understand what i mean, i didn't expect anything because i wasnt told what to expect and thats what i mean by experiencing shit. honestly dude everything you "accurately predicted" you didnt predict but learned the shit from other sources getting a pretty good expectation for them, so all you predicted wasn't anything anyone didn't already tell you

i really don't know i was high as shit when i wrote and when i went back and read what i wrote i realized i made no sense so i tried to make sense of it which didn't work to well, my bad. yea i honestly don't remember what my point was, but there was one. and it wasnt necessarily directed at you either.
