What I'm looking for is your honest opinion on why you feel that George Bush would be the best candidate for president. I do not want people to argue points in this post. Don't post unless you are for Bush.

Thanks, your valuable opinions are appreciated!

Please be as detailed as possible.

I hate to see a thread go down without any posts, so since I'm undecided as of right now, I'll put up why I'm considering voting for Bush:

    1. He's consistent. I may not always agree with him, but he believes in what he is doing. Unlike Kerry, Bush can't be swayed by polls or numbers, he holds firm to what he starts. Beleive it or not, the man is doing what he thinks is best for the American people, and as the Romans say - (I can't speak Latin so run with me here) "It is foolish to debate matters of personal preference" - and that applies to politics as well. If we get a guy like Kerry in office and something big happens (think bigger than 9/11), do we really want to wait until the polls come in before our leader makes a career-altering decision?

    2. He dosen't take shit. Like it or not, Bush would see 10 foreigners drop dead before 1 American. Not that I agree with the reasoning, but it certainly is re-assuring. Kerry, on the other hand, would be willing to sacrifice American interests to please the international community.

    3. This is more of a matter of personal opinion, but Bush's international views are closer (see: not that close, but better than Kerry) to mine than Kerry. My opinion: It is the responsibility of the free world to overthrow, forcibly if necessary, every non-elected (see: totalitarian) government in the world. Period. Call me an idealistic socialist if you will, but I think it is the ultimate hypocricy for Americans, Brits, Canadians, and whoever else to be living our lives bitching abut our civil liberties being stripped away while people living in many parts of South America and Asia don't know what a civil liberty is, much less free speech or anything else we take for granted. Yeah I know that no president in 1000 years will ever share my world view, but Bush is closer.

That's all I can think of at any rate. Of course I could come up with a list twice as long about why I'm considering not voting for Bush, but this isn't the thread for that.

I'm voting for Bush because unlike Kerry, he has balls. I don't love everything about him (i.e: immigration policy, big spending) but he is very strong (a helluva lot stronger than Kerry) on the biggest issue-- the war on terrorism. (which is basically WWIII, but most of the public doesn't realize that)

I think calling the war on terrorism WW3 is going too far (keep in mind that in the first WWs, the casualties reached millions for both sides within a year), but that's the general idea. His strongest running point in my opinion is that Bush isn't willing to sacrifice American interests for the international community, Kerry is.

I thought that the Cold War was WWIII and the war on terror is WWIV. Although personally I prefer to refer to it as the Arab Inquisition.:p

Anyway, I will probably not vote for Bush either, but I do like him more than Kerry slightly for a few reasons.
    - I believe that government should be as small and local as possible, so Kerry's love interest with the UN scares the crap out of me. It's bad enough that Bush want's to make the US federal government all powerful.
    - I believe that the war on terror should be fought in the Middle East instead of in the US. I also believe it is a military problem and not a law enforcement problem. The US is too litigious of a society to use the court system to fight terrorism.
    - I am guessing that Kerry would approach the war on terror with an attitude similar to Vietnam where the policy is containment instead of victory. If that happened, then the middle east would turn into another vietnam.
    - I believe that Kerry's proposed pretectionist economic policies would cost jobs both in the US and abroad.
    - While Bush has been very fiscally irresponsible in terms of spending, Kerry's proposition of another trillion dollars worth of spending programs would just make the deficit that much worse. We need less government, not more of it.

I would vote for Bush if.....

1.his opponant was either Buchanan or Jerry Falwell.

2.he personally discovered the cure for cancer,AIDS,and the Ebola virus.

in other words...Bush would never get my vote.

But I did state why I'd vote for Bush.:p

Does that mean that you are in favor of forcibly overthrowing the Bush administration? I mean seeing as how Bush was not elected but appointed by the supreme court.

I know that we were asked not to post this kind of thing in this thread but I just couldn't resist. So now I'll put situations in which I might vote for Bush, or at least all such situations that might actually happen.

1: China invades Taiwan, and as a premptive measure fires nukes at us. No, wait that isn't going to happen. I would vote for Bush if it did though.

2:It turns out that he was right about the WMD's. It if turns out that he was right about Saddam being connected to Al-Qaeda. If he was right about needing to lie to congress every change he gets. If he was right about needing to imprison thousands of American citizens and imigrants for years at undisclosed locations without access to lawyers, without being given a trial, and without ever being charged with a crime. If it turns out that was right in all of these caases I will vote for Bush.

So, of course, you are ENLISTING in the Military or are already enlisted, right? If we have all this evil to overthrow, you would be a terrrible hypocrite if you weren't involved in doing the overthrowing.

I am voting for George W. Bush because his incredible leadership after 9/11 proved that he is a masterful crisis President.

He has mortally wounded the Al-Queda terrorist network. and has freed over 50 million people in Afganistian and Iraq.

Because of his capitalist pro-growth and pro-small business agenda have adeed 1.8 MILLION new jobs, he deserves credit for reviving our economy, and that recession WASN'T his fault.

He now leads a defense of traditonal American values from extreme left atheist who want to turn this nation into an atheist socialist terror appeasing state.

His defense of the holy institution of marriage, God in our Pledge, God in our money, he invokes God as his guiding light like so many U.S. Presidents have done before him.

He is a good man, a loving husband and father.

He won't cower at a slip in his poll numbers *cough* KERRY! *cough* He knows what's right and isn't afraid to do it.

    He's funny.

He's all around one of the best Presidents we've ever had!

uh excuse me...dont come onto HIP forums that's a site geared towards HIPPIES and the more liberal types and presume to tell US where we can and cannot post.

this is a free speech website and you are not a moderator.

you can try to gag us all you want with certain wording...but the reality is...any post posted on a debate forum....is open season.

Dont come onto HIP forums and get huffy because there arent many Bushwacked supporters.

    seriously.dont.

I believe that just the fact that Bush (The US President) and Cheney (The US Vice President) refusing to testify on camera to the 9/11 commission, investigating the biggest intelligence failure in US History, is reason enough to not vote for them...
