it's a symptom of a larger disease, for sure. when presented with two candidates that were disagreeable to them, many people voted for the one that at least pretended to like them and have some regard for what they stand for and believe. it's kinda sad, you know?

the majority of Americans are un-educated when it comes to 'the system.' that is one reason why bush won, essentially, much of rural america voted for bush because he seemed like a "one of us" type guy (even though that is NOT the case) and kerry seemed to0 scholarly.. so they voted for the more likable canidate..
many of these people have heavy "christian values" and thats what they based their vote upon.. suddenly the idea of dudes kissing is more threatening than the idea of troops in Iraq getting killed every day... since when has the bible become more important than the constitution in this country? it just doesnt make sence anymore....

the fact of the matter is that the dnc completely ignored the motivations of a vast crowd of american voters, much to their own detriment.

the slide of the DNC down the tubes will continue as long as they remain blind and ignorant o the American populace. Two straight federal elections the democras have been swept at the federal level..and i see no immediate end in sight as long as the democrats remain aloof to your average american.

I am starting to get irritated with the idea that the ‘values vote’ won this election. This democratic/media driven idea that only halfwits and religious cranks voted republican began a day after the election and has not stopped.

These accusations have a decent base for argumentation from the massive CNN exit polls, but a closer look at the numbers shows that there is more than meets the eye.

According to the polls, the largest single block of voters identified ‘moral values’ as the most important issue. 80% of these respondents voted for Bush. “Largest single block” turns out to mean 22%, meaning 78% of voters (including two-thirds of Bush voters) named some other most important issue.

The reason that ‘moral values’ won top spot is because all the other major issues were divided up into sections. ‘Iraq’ and ‘Terrorism’ were separate issues. If they had been grouped together under “national security” they would have grabbed top spot with 34%. Same thing with ‘taxes’ and ‘economy’, both separate options on the poll. Had they been together under ‘domestic policy’ they would have gained 25% of voters.

If you had divided ‘moral values’ into the specifics (like had been done with national security, and domestic policy), one can only think, the numbers would have been different.

But keep those numbers the same and examine a few other numbers. 37% of voters were ‘republican’, same as the ‘democratic’ turnout. The “turn out the base” thesis fits here. Now look a little further. Bush got ~90% of the Republican vote, plus 10% of the Democratic vote, plus 50% of the independents. Add it up folks! That means fully one-third of Bush’s vote came from non-Republicans! Oddly, that is the same proportion as the “moral value” turnout!

    Shocking!

Now you might suggest that there is some overlap, or a lot, between the two. Good for you! But even if it were true that Bush drew disproportionate support from the moral majority, that is only one way, of many possible ways, that the numbers can be sliced. Why is only this spin recognized?

What would you say if I said this:

Bush’s support increased significantly amoung, women (at 48% there was no gender gap and he led Kerry 55-44 amoung white women), Hispanics (44%), blacks (granted it was only 11% but that is one-fifth increase), Jews (25%, a one-third expansion), and amoung Catholics (he beat Catholic Kerry 52 –47).

When a candidate draws such increased numbers from voters who are not traditionally identified with his party it is identified as ‘broadening the base’.

So why all the fascination with zombie hordes of theo-cons?

Honestly, I think a good many people are really getting 'too smart' for the condescending and intellectually insulting 'Elite Liberals' and there 'Hordes' of hypocritical self-righteous and intolerant Robots.

Just take this Micheal Moore piece-of-sheer-shite-crapumentary which was used as a fund-raiser and 'win-by-pullng-at-emotions' manipulation.

Can you believe that Moore (and his Democrat bosses) actually have the BALLS to ask me the public to simply accept that Dick Cheney is slaughtering American boys for millions of dollars...
... BUT HERE IS THE KICKER....

... Im to never question whether Micheal Moore is possibly making up stories which HE HAS MADE MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of dollars from?

    Come on!

The worst thing - the liberal lefties honestly think they 'know better' and that 'if only' the rest of the public would 'get educated' they would finally 'wake up' and realise that Moore would never accuse someone of mass-murder to make Millions,
    Dick Cheney IS a mass-murdered,
Gay Marriage MUST be accepted immediately or else Im going to Hell as a Hate-spewer.
Socialised Health Care is beautiful and Pulling Fetuses out of womens wombs is perfectly normal and empowers women.

You know what - In your face Micheal Moore.
And In Your Face to all the Kerry-ites who cowardly and sneakily kept quiet and did not denounce Moores Propaganda films.

I know I'm kinda stupid but maybe instead of moore you could have used somebody like Arundhati Roy. Maybe watch a flick like "The Corporation' ? ... and here's something really dumb. I like to keep a copy of Parabola next to my adbusters. I heard that funny phrase 'abstract thinking' and i guess if i stare at the pictures in both of em' long enough I might get it one day. As far as those people who are just up and leaving.... I guess it is kind of dumb to feel a little bummed out about that. hey, just means more veggies from the garden for me, I won't have to print up as many posters (cus there's nobody to put them up), don't have to work on that extra house, I can keep all that material I got stored up for making clothes. I won't have to do much of anything and I can just hang out and stare at that thing that guy called a 'mandala' (boy what a funny lookin' picture) for awhile. ;)

he he. just messin with you Sweet_Sangria. I feel your passion. More power to you. Just please don't hurl anymore insults.

I certainly hope most of you never watched the dozens of beheading videos made by the 'Islam Resistance' (or whatever these sick fucks call themselves).

In case you didn't - these gangs kidnap innocent American, British, Japanese (anyone including charity workers).
They put them in tiny cages, blindfolded and abused for sometimes weeks at a time.
Then they all stand around the victims (who are aware of what is coming) and read long statements.
The people are pushed down on the floor and while perfectly alive and concious - they take a kitchen knife and begin sawing their heads off.

    Anyway...

Believe me - I know the Battle of Falujah is gonna have some ugly moments and sadly some civilians might get hurt too.

    However,

Just knowing some of your American Soldiers have annihilated roughly 1000 of those sick murdering bastards (and those that help them) makes me extremely thankful.

Hey guess what - you wont see any innocent civilians having getting tortured and dying in agony this week in Fallujah!

The way I see it - 10 Americans gave their lives to kill 1000 guilty lives.
That will certainly save the lives of far more than 10 innocent people in the near future.

You can speculate these extremists will 'get revenge' later.
    I dont agree.
I think there are now 1000 less potential planners and further more, since they were already planning to pull off as many terror acts as possibly - we might as well start killing them first anyway.

No no.. SOME of them moved to the next city.
One Thousand of them were too dead to move on to Mosul.

At the rate we are going - we will eventually eliminate all the ones who still want to run and fight.

Those are the ones to really watch out for anyway.

I agree that many of these Terrorists are nothing more than Gangs hoping to ultimately make a lot of riches and power.
(heck.. Saddam did pretty good and he started as a lowly Baath Party Thug and Murderer)
(heck more.. Don King made his fortune the same way)

With most of these guys though... its more of a cult.
The problem with radical cult members is that they cant really be 'starved out'.
In fact, they just get more excited the harder it gets on them.

IN this case, the US is doing some classic manouvering (but it cant tell YOU the Public because its very scary and brutal).

They are basically making a big huge target of themselves.. then for all intents and purposes - making the fanatics become more determined than ever.

This is actually a great (and brutal) way to force the fighters out of their holes and push the most violent to 'put up or die'.

So the hope is - You concentrate the most hard-core true believers into their 'final stand' - and Kill them all.

So far so good - but ya, it will actually take decades.

Does anyone recall the General, who explained this Strategy in the early part of the war?

About a year ago he was on CNN and clearly explained that the Iraqi strategy was to make the USA a target for radical terrorists (inside Iraq) and effectively 'trade them lives'
For every one US Soldier assisinated - thats a handful of terrorists 'lured out'.
The idea being one of mathematics.
The US will then kill 10 of them.

Anyway... After that report, someone 'high up' must have issued some stern warnings because there was NO MORE explanations like that again.
If Fact, I never saw or heard that General on TV again after that.

Later I was told that the public is not supposed to know these things.
The Public can not 'handle' knowing these things.

Even Clinton had said that his Government was actively trying to kill Osama Bin Lauden - and US assasins had even 'come close'.
    However,
Clinton could never actually tell the Public that.
    They cant 'handle' it.

Well I don't know if you ever watched that old movie that was made back in 1946 called, It's A Wonderful Life, starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, but it told the story how every life touches another. Well back in 1963 a decision was made to allow abortion. Republicans did not support this decesion and protested it. The Democrats imbaraced it with open arms, and made it the center piece of their partys platform. Well some forty years later abortion is now starting to affect each partys voting block. As it turns out, Democratic woman have about 30% more abortions than Republican woman. Also Republican woman tend to have more children. Well now this is starting to show at the polls, and it appears that each year for the next 20 years even if abortion was stopped today, Republicans will be adding tens of thousands of new voters to their voting block while Democrats will be loseing as many. You see every life really does touch another. It is sad for the Democrats, but they actually without knowing it, have aborted their party away. A simple fact that they will understand as each election comes along and they can't find the votes to get them into high office. News week ran the article called, The Cradle Will Rock, you might find the artical on line. Democrats in the years ahead will realize how unwise it was to make murder the center piece of thier partys platform. What comes around goes around.

Ya I have always wondered about this?

You have a certain amount of people who (at least at the time) believe they can or should abort babies based on their financial situation (also. at the time of pregnancy).

So it would seem that eventually there would be less children being raised with the 'pro-abortion' values and of course, less future adults to vote accordingly.

I also consider this with the Birth control issue.
Those families who follow the belief that children should arrive as much as nature intends it - ultimately will have larger families and more children to share those values and eventually vote for those values.

So in 40 years we see candidates with strong 'Catholic' values winning - dont be surprised.

Please do not reply with the hundreds of exceptions to the principle.
We already know not ALL children of a 'No-Abortion' family will carry those values.

Its just speaking to a general over-all principle that seems would play out.
