Read my posts again please, you are completely missing my point. It would not be "questionable" at all if it was not in any way acknowledged as "questionable". Such things assigned as "questionable" even in humor are passed to the next generation - who may interpret it as they choose. Perhaps the concept itself started humorous, but it has now carried into guys drinking themself into the emergency room to assert their "manliness".
No :grunt: but :scratch ass: I'm :scratch balls: gonna :fart: grab :belch: a sam adams :spend 30 mins takin a shit:.
no, no, no. fitz and the drinker he's teasing are both in the understanding that what they're drinking (not lynching or persecuting, ) is perfectly okay. it's the people around them who are being educated through fitz and his friend not taking the concept seriously. it's a valid move on their part. it's hard to take something seriously when people around you have already mocked the concept.
now who's being a hypocrite? why, that would be you. unless you're willing to confess you're completely wrong.
Men shouldn't drink girly drinks a concept that is held to be "true" - mocked or not. Even if you laugh and say "how stupid", you are acknowledging the ability for someone to agree... and likely after years of such mocking you are going to believe it to be true yourself. Then instead of saying "what difference does it make", people must say "I don't care what drink a man chooses to drink"... read between the lines... Racism is a concept that is held to be "true" - mocked or not. The seperation being drawn is what allows for racism - no mental seperation no racism... your staring at an individual, and one of their phsyical traits is the color of their skin - no more important to who they are than the size of their feet. The key here is that the color of their skin is not even identified as "race"... this can never truly be allowed by all of society as long as the racial lines are drawn . Erectile dsyfunction is a concept that is held to be "true" - mocked or not. Someone suffering from it is held to be less than a man... and bombarded with advertisements saying this pill will "fix" your problem... instead of it being accepted as the way a person is, some guys just can't go from soft sam to johnny rocket in 2 seconds flat. Phsyical issues aside, most "ED" is no more than a lack of confidence, which is thrust upon men not fitting into a certain category by society. If you aren't physically capable of something, you must take a pill so that you may be physically capable... the very idea is extremely insulting. Who decides what is "right"? Why accept such things as "right"? Chicks that work on cars are all dykes is a concept that is held to be "true" - mocked or not. Any choice a person makes, any direction they head in their life, does not influence their sexuality in such a way. If a woman is a mechanic and not into girls, she's seen as a shining example of what a woman "can" be... but drawing that seperation is what continues the idea and pulls many young girls away from a promising career they love so that they aren't labeled as "dykes"... playing right into the stereotype - a stereotype that she could not even be aware of because it could not even exist. We have grown up within these ideals - but that does NOT make them correct or progressive. The only way to move society forward is for each of us to identify its problems and work to solve them... this doesn't mean continue making the same mistakes and teach our kids its their responsibility to change the world. I'm taking the responsibility of changing the world on *my* shoulders so that the next generation (or 20 generations from now!) may grow up and read about racism, sexism, and all forms of hatred as a part of history... so they may not accept these ideals to be true, but that they may see how false they were.
I was hoping someone would catch that. My post was to incite just such a reaction... because you identified me continuing such ideals - even in humor - as "true". That was exactly my point.
lol - I'm going to take that as the joke I hope it is Do you at least see where I'm going? Don't think about now, think about 100 years from now, what direction are *you* leading the world? You remind me I've had a hankerin for some jack daniels... whiskey is perhaps the only alcohol I like by itself.
nope. not buying it. the only reason you were a hypocrite is BECAUSE you were making a joke when you were saying it's not okay to joke. NOT because you made a joke. that woulda been just fine, but you're deliberately ignoring the simple difference.
man, you're supposed to be embracing the silly. stop taking it SO SERIOUSLY. we completely and utterly disagree. i think you're absolutely, one hundred percent incorrect. and that's okay.
ouzo and sambuca...prolly the only things i dislike drinking last night there was this short guy only drinking porn stars...alot of guys like porn stars but even though thats their name, they are such chick drinks tequila all the way!!! i think hard liquor is more manly than beer
