a lot of the people who point their wretched and gnarled fingers at druggies are the types who sit on their ass most of the time and waste away. only so they can consume junkfood, not get any excercise and buy and consume whatever useless and overpriced products they see on tv. let's not forget the people who talk about how bad drugs are, but will have cocktails at the end of the evening, chainsmoke and eat whatever prescriptions their doctors order them to take. it's someone who is a waste of life accusing someone else of being a waste of life.

to me, these type of people are as big of burdens as a crackhead. or will be in many years when they're in a hospital bed because they had a heart attack or stroke from their lack of excercise and poor eating habits.
or when they get old and cippled their relaives forget about them. it's the tax payers who pay money so they can sit in some residential care facility. stamping something as illegal only gives the product publicity. if you're trying to keep people from doing something. why in the world would you bother advertising the vice?

it's like how they tell everyone not to do meth. but then when the drug task force dismantles a meth lab. they show all the equipment and ingrediants needed to make it in photos in the latest edition of the newspaper. this of course inspires idiots who use this substance with no background in organic chemistry to think that they can make this stuff. blam! there's another attempt at a meth lab which either blows up or poisons the community it's in.

here we have it folks, another straightforward reason why the war on drugs simply does not work.

hahaha what are you talking about man??
you give no reasons why the war on drugs doesnt work...
i dont think you have understood this yet but alcohol and heroin are different! and heroin is much more addicting and lethal so thats why it is illegal
its pretty simple man... alcohol and the war on drugs are not related!!!!
and then also making hard drugs legal wouldnt make people use them less... how does that make any sense at all???
    end of story

yea people dont use hard drugs because of the novelty or the rush they get from doing something they shouldnt be...they use it because it gets them high, and then they are addicted.
There is nothing wrong with alcohol in moderation. Thats not true of crack or heroin. NOT THE SAME THING, get it

What is the point of illegalizations? If humans would develop in a non-controlled society they would have a better feel for responsibility. But i guess people are afraid of anarchism, like they are afraid of all that is unknown.

for the same reason why youth in the netherlands don't smoke pot as much as american youth do. because by softening laws against them they've taken the glamour out of it's usage. or atleast some of it. do you not understand basic human psychology wizalsh? telling someonme no over and over again makes them want it even more. i gave plenty of reasons why the war on drugs doesn't work. your logioc is like 1+1=3.they most certainly are related, alcohol is a drug wizalsh and people like yourself demonstrate how hypocritical it is to condone booze, but think powdered drugs are worse. alcohol is just as bad as any powdered drugs are as far as i'm concerned. every bit as addictive as hard drugs. plus makes people horrible drivers and causes fetal alcohol syndrome. a baby with fetal alcohol syndrome is as bad off as a crack baby.
both alcohol consumption and hard drug use provoke violent situations.

Well, look at what happened with the hippie movement in the 60s. The widespread use of drugs was causing the people step out of line and really look at the way the world works. The reason drugs are illegal is because the government wants to make sure that you don't question how working a pointless 9 to 5 job the majority of your life can be considered a valid use of your life. They have a lot invested in the education system, which teaches us not to question authority and to be good little serfs.

I agree with this. Those who becoming addicts do not know how to practice self-control.

actually, they become addicts because the drugs are addicting. Having an addictive personality type, and being addicted to crack is not the same thing.

    No, you are wrong bradley.
Someone with a strong personality can step out of the circle of physical addiction.
Anyways, i can't speak for people who done heroine or crack since i never did it, but i guess the same counts for you (no?).

Even tho, it is society who makes these heroine and crack addicts, some people are not strong enough to face this hard life and they choose an easier way. Removing some of the rules would be one step forward to a more "humain society".

because humans are gullable. gullable enough to believe that it is bennificial to outlaw possession because they are gullable enough to expect to get something out of it with little or no ill effects if they weren't.

so why is it still gullable to outlaw them? because of two things, first forbidden fruit always creates a market for organized crime, which incidently, in all probability supports keeping them unlawful because by keeping the legal risks high keeps the street value high and the compitition low. the other is the open invitation it creates for using the legal system to fraim and blackmail anyone you dissaggree with politically.

a power few in power, economically or politically would likely willingly give up. at least certainly not those of 'conservative' pretendions.

i really doesn't take a conspiracy in the sense of organized networking or anything, it's really just an intrest many in power see themselves as having in common.

and then of course, a lot of the massess not in power who mean well get conned into going along with it for the reasons stated to begin with.

I agree about strong people having the strength to step out from their addiction. Ultimately its them and only them that can do it; no one else can do it for them.
However, I disagree that society makes addicts; people make themselves addicts by being stupid, gullible, and irresponsible. Ultimately if a person becomes an addict, its because they were weak and can't control themselves. We can have all the AA meetings we want, all the therapy and rehab, but its up to the person if they really want to change. in my opinion, addiction is a sign of weakness.
I agree that we shouldn't outlaw "drugs"... why should the rest of us suffer because some people are stupid? I believe it is our body, our choice. I'm a firm libertarian and I believe so long as the person isn't harming others, go ahead. Leave people to take their own path and do what they feel is right. The government has no right to say otherwise; unfortunately, the government DOES give itself the right to control our minds and bodies; pretty soon our thoughts, voice, and opinions. Only a matter of time before they control our votes; or at least decide which ones matter and which ones don't.

heroin would be much easier to quit if it were legal

i was fortunate enough to be introduced to a kind doctor

who prescribed me vicodin, chloral hydrate, and a blood pressure medicine [name forgotten]

i stepped down with the vicodin and was off everything in two weeks

it was not easy but compared to other methods?

methadone is just getting addicted to the goverment's shitty dope [and if you want to actually quit they step you down so rough it never works]

a friend of mine did acupuncture which he described to me as worthless, expensive, painful, and stupid

what my doctor did for me was save my life

and what he did for me was totally illegal

    [crazy fucking country]

Regardless of any and all arguments posted here--it's always about the money.Always.Those that have vast amounts of it,make the rules. We don't mean much to them. We're treadmill zombies keeping the machine going with our MONEY.We each send a few bucks in and by the time we all send it--billions and billions have been generated to the delight of those that get to steal/squander it.Money for Columbia,Israel,Egypt,African countries, war, ect, ect.Every employer is a tax collecter,of sorts,so we can't refuse to pay, because the money is taken out of people's checks for them to disperse in any way they see fit.Usually to grease/pave the way for one corporate structure or another to expand their hold on the resources/people in some part of the world. That's the way it's played , has been played ---and will be played.-----As to the drug situation-it's obviously a money maker for all involved, from the kid on the corner selling a dime bag to those like escobar ,law enforcement ,including the prison complex, crooked politicians ,ect. The use of mind-altering substances has existed--oh---FOREVER and cannot be stopped. Some are/have been, used for those seeking a higher plane of existance and others to get"fucked up".Of course, along comes meth, crack and others--hey -everyone wants their little piece of the pie--fuck the consequences. The bad always drives out the good-because people are involved and it's back to the MONEY.And personally,I don't give a damn if people want to shoot monkey shit in their veins-it's none of my business and they're going to do it if they want to.And big Pharma and politicians will make money off it!!It's the american way.So let's climb back on the treadmill and shut the fuck up so they can continue to have their way with us.

Oh yeah--they'll let us drive 70 miles an hour in opposite directions 4 or 5 feet apart in plastic vehicles--but don't be inhaling smoke from burning vegetation--OR WE"LL RUIN YOUR MISERABLE LAW-BREAKIN ASS.[IMG]

And furthermore--you never own your property.Yup-never.If your property is paid off,you still owe taxes on it every year for as long as you own it.Don't believe me?Try not paying the taxes on it and see who takes it away from you.

    Really, Wizalsh?

Did you know that more people die because of alcohol every year, quite a bit more actually, than all illegal drugs combined?

Explain this for me, oh wise one.

Where do I get this "intelligence" detection system that you seem to have?:
"look at that quote... how can i argue with someone this stupid?"

I believe you're the one who doesn't seem to have the facts here. I'm sorry, but if you believe 100% what the government tells you, than it is you who is an idiot. Well, not so much an idiot as being ignorant.

Doesn't matter how you put it, Wizalsh, drugs being illegal make the trade worse than it should be. If drugs were legal and regulated, they'd be pure and alot safer to consume. Plus, you won't have the illegal market which means violence and death involved with the drugs and trade will drop considerably.

But, ofcourse, you wouldn't want that now, would you Wizalsh? You'd rather have more people die and keep drugs illegal because you've been brain washed by the government thinking it's a good thing.

You say America is free? Where is the freedom in getting arrested for smoking a joint in your own house?

    Explain that, fellow patriot.

I don't think there's a big conspiracy behind it-- I think it's mostly because at one time they were thought to be hazardous to the 'moral fiber' or the health of the people, and the government made a decision to ban certain substances and after a while the paperwork built up and people vested their interest in the war on drugs until getting it unbanned became extremely difficult. As much as some people want to believe that it's for some exciting and insidiously evil reason, it would more likely be something boring like that.
