A lot of junkies probably can't hold down real jobs for very long so they turn to art as a way of supporting their habit.
hehehehehehehe.... i said very much the same thing, but much more tactfully. finally, someone's being more obnoxious than i am.
I don't think it's the whole "expand your mind for your art" stuff, probably becuase most artists tend to fall into the "tortured souls" category, so perhaps a way of coping? Why does anyone do drugs. Same reason.
hehehe. don't get boosh started on logical fallacies, statements and such. he'll give you a headache.
because they rely on the drugs for their creativity/inspiration, rather than finding it from within without the use of substances as many really good artist do nowadays
That's not really true, you just have to look a little harder to find it. And many artists don't rely on drugs for creativity, I don't.
You know, now that I think about it, most of the corporate people I work with have addictions as well. They're just as miserable and tortured as the artists I think.
My drug of choice tends to be vodka. But I don't drink it to expand my mind before I start drawing. I normally drink to help me finish a drawing.....I tend to hate my own work and won't finish. I still haven't finished the nude I was working on.....or the pictures I promised a forum member. So when I'm buzzed I don't give a rats ass how the picture turns out I just finish it.
