Joseph Mallord William Turner, especially his north of England paintings and watercolours. Favourite 20th century artist L.S.Lowry.

I find it weird holding up dead artists as my favorite artists because art isn't a past tense word to me. When I hear the word art I automatically think of right now, or the future. Dali, Kadinsky, Escher etc. all register to me as art history class. Not 'art' class, the word art signifies to me on the cutting edge of the human psyche.

I also hold great esteem to the visual designer behind Starcraft :)

googie style architecture became popular in the post ww2 era.the popularity of automobile travel and the design of the cars themselves seems to have been a contributing factor.also the space age and atomic age designs.motels, restaurants, shopping centers, advertising signs,drive-in movies and gas stations often with neon lighting were the most common application of the googie style.i don't see them being built anymore and many are being demolished.this futuristic style has, it seems become a thing of the past.

in the 1950's frank lloyd wright designed the mile high building "the illinois building".i think it was planned for chicago,il. it was never built but it would certainly be something to see on the chicago landscape and to go up in.i was reading about plans for a mile high tower to be built in saudi arabia.
