Joseph Mallord William Turner, especially his north of England paintings and watercolours. Favourite 20th century artist L.S.Lowry.
alex grey luke brown I find it weird holding up dead artists as my favorite artists because art isn't a past tense word to me. When I hear the word art I automatically think of right now, or the future. Dali, Kadinsky, Escher etc. all register to me as art history class. Not 'art' class, the word art signifies to me on the cutting edge of the human psyche. I also hold great esteem to the visual designer behind Starcraft
i dont know that I have a favorite, but i really like Modigliani (the women with the long faces). i like expressionist paintings. but i also really adore Renaissance sculptors of the human body
googie style architecture became popular in the post ww2 era.the popularity of automobile travel and the design of the cars themselves seems to have been a contributing factor.also the space age and atomic age designs.motels, restaurants, shopping centers, advertising signs,drive-in movies and gas stations often with neon lighting were the most common application of the googie style.i don't see them being built anymore and many are being demolished.this futuristic style has, it seems become a thing of the past.
i find jackson pollock and andy warhol both inspiring. they each have their own unique style which possesses greatness. i am also fond of roy lichtenstien.
i will look up alex grey. i am studying art history currently and i am really into everything. trying to find my one true pleasure though.
in the 1950's frank lloyd wright designed the mile high building "the illinois building".i think it was planned for chicago,il. it was never built but it would certainly be something to see on the chicago landscape and to go up in.i was reading about plans for a mile high tower to be built in saudi arabia.
Salvidor Dali, Francisco Goya, Hieronymus Bosch, Max Ernst, Diego Rivera, El Greco, and of course myself.
not my favourite, but i just discovered brandon boyd- i had no idea he was an artist by day or night most likely- but yeah- i checked some of his out- and i really dig it- especially since hes so amazing in words- and spiritually-
