Neil Peart<<<<<<<<<<<<Right here. Carter Beauford<<<<<<<Period. I'm not even a big fan of Dave Matthews Band or Rush but you HAVE to give credit where it is due. These guys are at the top of the list for rock drummers. ...and to the guy who said Nick MAson---WRONG but way to hang in there
Mitch Mitchell is my personal favorite... I'm surprised only one other person has mentioned him. Behind him would be Neil Peart, then Ginger Baker, then Bonham.
The best german drummer was (long before he started the "Panik Orchestra") Udo Lindenberg. I think the best percussionist could be Ruth Underwood Best drummers are Terry Bozio and (sorry man but listen to Genesis) Phil Collins, even if he's uninspired.
I think John Bonham is(was) one hell of a drummer. Not to say that he rules overall, because that is, of course, a matter of opinion, but he really is (was)amazing, God rest his soul.
It's really hard to choose one, so here's a list: Bill Bruford (Yes, King Crimson) Robert Wyatt (Soft Machine, Matching Mole) Carl Palmer (ELP) Jaki Liebezeit (Can) Pierre Moerlen (Gong) Keith Moon (The Who) Ginger Baker (Cream) Lenny White (Return to Forever) Michael Shrevie (Santana)
thats hard........kieth moon....mitch mitchelle (very under rated, but it must be hard with hendrix on stage).....John Bonhm (wohever you spell it)...Ginger Baker
Levon Helm, hell all member of the Band were beyond belief in terms of skill. They are in my opinion at least, THE GREATEST band on techinal skill ever.
