easy E was that 1 percent of society that didnt go by the law. Easy E truly lived the thug life/ crip. He rapped about how Snoop was never really know in the streets and was all an act like Ice Cube and his four year college degree.

 

Rap used to be more poppy. There was no gangster rap before Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube and all the old ass mother fuckers. You say Eazy-E proved that Dre and Snoop weren't gangster and yet E was in NWA with Dre. Rapping is just talking shit and just because someone says that someone isn't gangster doesn't mean they're not.

Either way, I said Wu Tang to begin with. They're the only real gangsters in my point of view.

I never once said that he was. I'm just saying that someone else saying it in a tune meant to diss the other dude doesn't make it true because they lie in those raps. Getting an education doesn't mean you weren't in the game either. Either way, you'll never know what they've been through unless you were actually with them. You just have to rely on criminal records and even that doesn't mean everything. If they don't have one it could just mean that they're smart. If they do they're stupid or just bad motherfuckers (see Old Dirty Bastard for reference).

True but before blowing up Easy E was push dope to start ruthless records and gang banging only later to rap about it. Also Dr.Dre did the beats which any rap fan can tell you his excellent at it! so why wouldn't easy have dr.dre on the track mixer/product? as for ice cube which later on his life we can see what a great actor he is and has a four year college degree that obviously screams intelligent being. Meaning that before joining NWA he was obviously smart enough to do poetry with such great education which could easyly translate to rap. Also you can tell in Ice Cubes lyrics are more about the lifestyle then living it.
