Gayle King?' ' "Oprah used to eat my muff for hours and hours and give me many orgasms, I felt so violated, it got me addicted to xanax, oh, and I never got a car when everyone else did"
I’m sure she did have a crush on him like so many other teenage girls and he used his star status to exploit her innocence. Then again Scott Baio is a strong supporter of Donald Duck Trump and her recent accusations could have been politically motivated
Or she never found anyone she like as much as Baio and has been bitter and vindictive about it for 30 years and this way she still gets to interact with him
I think it’s much more likely there are 200 women beyond the additional numbers. People don’t report it because they’re afraid - of lots of things. It’s incredibly consistent behavior for abuse victims. People don’t come forward because some guy who’s never been abused will say I don’t believe them, I think they tried to bribe the poor man and when it failed they’re just mad they didn’t get the part they wanted.
It is a horrible mess, but sadly part of the history of the film industry. On some productions it was almost impossible to work out who was banging who. Most of the people knew from the outset that it was all going to end when the production was complete and no doubt some of them saw it as a career move. The problem is, that today hundreds of people are left in a position where they can have their can have their five minutes of fame and probably make some money out of their sworded past. Meanwhile, a lot of the real victims of abuse will feel to ashamed to come forward and the real abusers will walk free.
Look at 2:55 on this video and you will see another aspect of this Hollywood mess. I worked on the post production of this film and watched the daily rushes before it was edited for the public.!!!!!!
So was the scene real? I think we as a culture need to be much less critical of women who come forward. I totally understand why many women feel like it’s just not worth it. They’ll just be victimized again. For a long time women has been taught to just accept the bad behavior of men so it’s tough now to just say ‘why didn’t they say something?’ I know you’re not saying that but that’s tne contemorary narrative. It’s abother way to blame victims.
I agree with you fully. I was just making the point that the culture of the film industry has turned the whole situation into a huge muddy pond, making it extremely difficult to separate consenting sex from misunderstandings and deliberate rape. Situations like "Don't Look Now" where 2 mainstream actors were involved, just make matters worse. The scandal broke when the film opened and no doubt hugely increased the box office. It is still a topic of conversation today.
And I’m curious what the reality is about that scene! I’ve often wondered about the choreography of sex scenes ....
Why are you saying 17 and hotwater is saying 14. I dont feel like looking into it to verify the age But if she was 14 that is statutory rape. Even if she did consent because she had a crush on him, which of course you have no proof of that, its just what you want to believe...but even if she did consent it is still rape. Minors can't legally give consent.
^^^ Isn't that also true at 17? I thought you were still legally a child at that age. Or does it vary state to state?
I think it does vary state to state, I know the age of consent in my state is 16. Which is weird to me, a 16 year old should be able to give consent to someone close in age like an 18 year old....but a 16 year old and a 30 year old still seems pretty predatory
The reason that the scene is still discussed today is that no one REALLY knows the answer. It was cut from about an hour of shooting and no penetration was actually shot, but the camera man operates the camera. A scene like that is so much harder on the 70 foot cinema screen where every bead of sweat shows, so how do you get a realistic orgasm.? Perhaps Julie Christie really is a good actor. LOL.
While most of the crew would keep out of the way during shooting scenes such as this, the cameraman and the director would have known, but they are not telling either. LOL. The producer has also kept quiet, but he would probably have been in the production office counting his money.
14 is when she said he first did something, 17 they were boyfriend/ girlfriend. Wasnt just on the set, they were friends and more for years
