Hello strangers, Going to saunter through this here intro-duction... The handle I picked for this forum is "crewcut", lifted from a novel called Vurt. Also, it suits me as I do have short hair and likely will for many years to come. I'm in my early 30s. Currently based outta N. California but I'm originally from Northeast Pennsylvania (noticed there was a recent poster from out that way also). I'm a genuine vampire, a pale and lean moth-person. Not like I dress like a cashier at Hot Topic (they still even have those?). Sleep all day, can't help but to. Work terribly strange and unhealthy hours. Completely out of sync with about 90% of the people around me, I'd guess. Some lines of conversation I'd be interested in participating in are van camping, boondocking, leatherworking, bartering, wild crafting, plant medicine and all that olde tyme mountain man stuff. For when I finally pull the plug on this salary gig (taking measures to get there) and go back to dig up my long forgotten roots. I also enjoy discussion about Lit... mostly fantasy, horror, sci-fi, weird fiction. I would welcome discussion about spirituality, especially Christian... and yes those speculations on the journey we're all taking here on the ol' Green and Blue. Whats it for? some game, some ride probably... You tell me. like this cartoon I once saw put it - "Smash your TV and have adventures." (seriously kill your TV, Game of Thrones is free online and the news is designed to either piss you off or distract you.) what else... oh right, Hunter S. Thompson was the man. :smoking: - CC
Maybe I would like to live in a TV and watch the woods...Oh,I'm playing my old obverse humour trick again - was trying to get rid of that.Anyway, welcome to here crewcut.
Thanks. TV can be useful, everything in moderation I suppose. I got a VHS set in my rig & the thrift stores are practically throwing away tapes these days. Yup. Nothing weird at all about a dude chillin' in his van, in the woods, watching old Elvira's Halloween specials, Puppet Master III and shit. Not even high. edit: that place is fucking haunted. right up there w/ that suicide forest in japan.
Hi crewcut. Here in the UK we have to pay a TV license to fund BBC.But my friend Peter who only wants to watch his VHS collection and now DVDs disconnected a wire in his TV so it now won't receive outside broadcasts. He proved this to the BBC license division and is now exempt from paying the fee - cool eh!
Its cool that he doesn't have to pay, the notion of licensing a TV is a bit ridiculous. Thats what you get for having a badass show like Dr. Who
Well you're interesting! How about politics? Conspiracy? Internet gurus? Check out TwoDogs's thread in Camping/Outdoor Living. It's pretty fantastic, great pics.
Dear Stranger, Hello. Nice to meet you. Very nice letter and introduction, and font. Yes, hot topic still exists. It seems you've come to the right place for discussion. I agree upon the notion of smashing your tv and living in the woods forever. Sincerely, Rainy
ginalee14, TwoDogs is doing it right. Thanks for the warm welcome. Conspiracy? Yeah, but you know its futile, so long as there is cold beer and football on Sunday nobody is going to do shit. Plus the younger generation(s) are incapable of being pried away from their smartphones long enough to organize any kind of significant contribution to society. We're just sorry husk of what we could be, spiritually as a nation... everything we produce is shit. Dude111, thank you Katkin, lol... depends on the woods in question how worried I am at night. RainyDayHype, thanks I feel extensively welcomed.
