I've never had another dog or any other kind of animal that just fucking loved me as much as my last pit did. I was his fucking sunshine on a rainy day.

And Sonho is right, you have to be the alpha male with dogs, pitbulls especially because they are a very unique/intelligent/energetic breed. That can be too much to handle for a lot of pit bull owners who aren't any of those things.

I think it kind of confuses dogs when people treat them exactly like a member of the family and like they are human. They are not human and you can't expect them to act like they are. Dogs are different and I think a lot of people don't really accept that.

I had an issue with my dog the other weekend. A friend of ours came to spend the weekend. My dog is a cool customer around other people, but he was totally into rough housing with this guy. Well, the guy is old and fat and not into rough housing, so he just threw a ball for him a couple times and that was that. BUT, anytime he would look the dog in the eyes.. he would growl and bark. I would tell him to stop and that would be the end of it. Until they would lock eyes again. My dog was totally asserting his dominance over this strange male in his house. He was letting this guy know that he was a lower pack animal and couldn't be giving any shit. He also would not let the guy get to close to me. He would position himself between us.

I really couldn't scold him for that, because in all honesty, he IS a higher ranking member of the pack. I just told the guy not to look him in the eyes or make any sudden movements towards him.

shepherds are more likely to show human aggression, hence their use in a lot of security and police work.

I have 16 hours of training in my pit, and am currently prepping him for CGC testing. I would love to use him for therapy work, but he does have a high level of gameness and high prey drive. 150% people friendly, unless a person shows agression to me. we will see I guess.

Stacy, your posts have gotten even more ridiculous in this thread and I am no longer going to engage you on this matter. sit back and learn something.

i would just like to say... that i have two american pitbull terriers, both are males(intact) and i love them very much. Im willing to bet that if u ever met my dogs you would love them too.. some people look at the two of them and instantly are afraid. ooh look at the scary pitbulls! im disgusted with said people. and the only things that should be worried obout my dogs ar rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional deer. they sure love hunting! and they certainly adore people.

We've had a couple English sheepdogs in my life. Man, they were simply wonderful. They'd eyeball the newcomers and look at us like "is he cool?" and totally chill when we greeted them. Hehehe they were so cool, so smart. Awesome at watching the kids in the front yard. One took on a rott that went for my little brother. Got his ass kicked but mt little brother was saved. And he wouldn't tolerate fighting among the adults. He'd jump between and stark knocking some space between them. I loved that old boy.

Ban the breed? How on earth would you suggest banning an entire breeding line of an animal? Give me a fucking break.

And I didn't that not being able to handle the dogs is a matter of "strength". Most medium size dogs could seriously maim a person or kill a child if they decided to, it's a matter of knowing how to handle dogs, and specifically how to handle certain breeds. They aren't lions or wolves plucked out of their natural habitats, they are animals that have been domesticated since the beginning of human history, and they can live properly with humans if handled correctly.

Horses can and have trampled people to death. Steer can and have gored people to death. No one is so monumentally stupid as to suggest that the entire breed of horse be eliminated in the wake of the tragedy.

    Really?

    Really dude?

I'm not saying it's impossible, but dogs very rarely "just snap". A dogs environment doesn't have to be deliberately abusive to be a terrible environment for that dog.

Those earlier posts I was pissed off on how I keep reading story after story on them.

but I learned to compromise with everyone that blame the owners. Okay you blame the owner and "the bad area" So why not ban them as house pets and keep them as guard dogs for prisons, jail.. etc. So when these owners act "bad" to them, they dont have to take it out on little kids or innocent people.

Rather keep them maintain in a prison environment. Theres a few prisoners I'd like to see get a couple scars for trying to escape or getting into a fight.

I've never had a bad experience with any kind of Shepherd dog. They are by far my favorite breed. In my experience they are about 500 times smarter than pit bulls and can control themselves much better.

but they are all part bad right?

FYI: I'm just playing around because stacy lulu has some simplistic and idiotic ideas about how to handle things that are potentially dangerous. I've known and respected a number of priests. I'm glad that you personally haven't let what's been happening destroy your faith in your clergy.

I've linked you to two stories about attacks from two breeds you claimed "don't do this."

So was the problem with the breed? Or the owner?

What's more amazing is that you seem to think that "Pit Bulls" are an actual breed of dog that can be isolated and banned.

i think just banning stacy from any human or animal contact would be the wisest choice
