lol yeah I did that too once. None of my friends have pit bulls but my friend brought me to this one place, kinda a dirty place, bad area but he had a pit bull and we got high and chilled and this crazy ass pit, the minute we sat down, he sat in front of us and watched our every move, I was high and really paranoid the whole time

All powerful breeds are dangerous. Specific individuals have a wide range of temperaments. But all pits are capable of doing tremendous damage - once they grab hold, they tend not to let go until the victim is deemed (in their minds) to be thoroughly dead.

Lots if breeds are capable of doing the same but the pounds per square inch of force that pits are capable of exerting is much greater than other breeds and their inbred tenacity makes them a favorite with most dog-fight enthusiasts.

None of this seems to mean much to those who have a beloved pit for a pet and there are pits in existence that don't automatically attack other small animals or children because they've been conditioned not to.

But they all have the ability to kill and it's best to never forget that.

Are you suggesting that they said pitbulls are bad dogs? Because I didn't get that at all from their post.

Obviously you are extremely oversensitive since that is not at all what they said.

I was just checking because I didn't want to assume that you were that stupid.

nope, nothing to think about.. i think if i were to have a child today that my dog would be fine around it..

how can you even think that EVERY SINGLE pitbull is bad??? seriously??

yeah you hear stories about the bad ones, because whos goin to want to read stories about the good ones? nobody, because that isnt interesting.

for every one "bad" pitbull there are hundreds of good ones.

    stop stereotyping them:cool:

Are you that dense or just a fan of arguing?

In all my years of working with animals, I have still yet to come across a pit bull who was by nature a mean dog.

Sure, you can train one to be dangerous. They'll do anything you tell them-- nothing more loyal than a pit'n.

They have a strong prey drive like any natural scavenging hunter does. Meaning, make sure you socialize them well so they know what is acceptable and so they learn to treat other animals with kindness and respect.

People on the other hand are not what pits are after by nature.

Also, please tell me what is a pit bull exactly?
In most cases, to those unknowing of the breed, (most posters in this thread) any muscular dog with a big head is a pit bull.... not at all the case.
They are a specific breed with specific loving, loyal, tenacious, tugga-bugga qualities.

I must also mention that pit bulls are one of the most prized breeds to be used as service dogs to aid people.

I've seen reports on the web of people who "snapped" and killed babies. If this isn't enough to ban the entire human species I don't know what is. To call for banning a breed because of the actions of some of it's members is as ignorant as banning the human race for the actions of some of it's members. In all seriousness stop blaming the dogs, it's ultimately the owner's who are responsible. Even if a dog is aggressive due to improper upbringing or a genetic defect it is still the owner's responsibility to ensure the publics' safety.
