who likes what skip is doing to hipforums?

Ok, I've seen several people that don't have guestbooks on their profiles, so, is EVERYBODY supposed to have a guestbook? If they are, I can give you the URL's for the ones I've seen that don't.

 

I really like what skip has done over the years with the forums, when I started on this site it was a lot different, that was back in 1999 and it looked so much different then. I was going by a different user name then, I wish I could remember it. Skip works hard on here, it shows. We all owe a debt of gratitude to him.:sunglasse

but he got rid of random thoughts because the posts were completely meaningless. dude, that's the point! grr. i know this is where i call home and i shouldn't get pissed off about one little forum, but it makes me mad that he's trying to make this place decent and civilized. lol. but it still is free speech. we still have plenty of other places to post. so i guess we should be thankful. iono.

 

I'm not exactly one for having Random Thoughts or Young Hippies shut down...

 

young hippies wasnt, random thoughts wasmostly cause of abuse..& especialy because of mocking
people were throwing it in his face that they wouldnt obey simple rules, throwing tantrums like chioldren..

The ones breaking the rules should have been banned. This site is excellent, but it's less excellent without RT. All forums need an Off Topic or Random Thoughts type section to keep the spam out of other forums, and it was just plain entertaining and a good way to kill time.

 

I miss RT, I will get over it.

 

RT was my home on here. I will find a new forum to spend time in, but many of my buddies will probably leave without RT to hang out in.

what if rt had 3 or 4 sticky nonsense threads.. for truly randomness..& then only create new threads that really have a topic worthy of discussion... & as the sticky ones get too long, like every couple weeks go back & clean up some totaly unescacary posts

if hipforums & rt being part of it is an online community, theres gotta be ways we can work together to make the mids & especialy skips jobs easier not harder...im not sayin for sure rt woud come back, but i'm sure theyd be more likely to..
after al the nonsence tho ..matbe we all could use a rt break for a bit, just to appreciate the rest of the forums as well..
..i'm postin at almost 6 am..& been beyond exhausted for days..i still like it here..but i post all over

righ now theres a thread in user support.. my cat is misssing..rt woulda been a good place for thart..or no..pets...there really is a forum foir everything..

 

while i miss the idea of having a random thoughts place i don't miss what it had become. and if it was me i'd've probably dumped it even longer ago or thought seriously about doing so. i can remember when it WAS someplace interesting, but that was back when, well lots of things were different (and a lot more diversely interesting) on the whole net, probably because there were fewer total netizens everywhere.

i'm not too found of the loss of cryptic thread titles, but there were perhapse some small overage of gratuitosly misleading ones.

Other than not letting people post in the political section till they have a certain # of posts, all is fine.
