As an "old fart" I just dropped by to see what you young 'uns were arguing about today! Thought I might clear a couple of things up from earlier on: 1. It is us Yanks that have the accents - the Brits have the real thing! 2. Crumpets are a lot like what we Yanks call "Enlish Muffins" - it's good stuff no matter what you call it! 3. Yank is just an off-shoot of Yankee. Yankee is the mispronounciation of the original Dutch term for all of the new immigrants (mostly all English) who flooded into New Amsterdam (New York) and took over most of New England. Ironically; this all happened well before 1776 - so the original Yankees were British!!!
