Do you need a graph? http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/117xx/doc11766/2010_08_05_FederalDebt.pdf Over a 20% increase in debt as a percentage of GDP. Largest peacetime increase of any president in history.
Thats quite a statement considering you don't know me, my views, or anything about my education in American history. I don't define myself as liberal or conservative, and most of my political views come from what I've discerned myself over the years. It has nothing to do with any "liberal bullshit" that I've been taught. The national debt actually decreased during Carter, increased during Reagan and George Bush and decreased during Clinton, followed by a massive increase during the second Bush's term. Obama inherited that debt. Whether or not it will eventually decrease under his adminstration probably depends on whether or not he gets reelected. The massive growth of the Federal government has occured under both Democrats and Republicans. Its a bipartisan tumor. For the sake of debate, I may return to this with charts, graphs, and statistics tomorrow, but I may not. I'm not really out to prove that either party is better than the other, because like I said, its a bipartisan tumor. Going back to Reagan, his adminstration kicked the war on drugs into high gear, a greater infringement on the rights of man by the Federal government than any social program could ever hope to accomplish. You didn't answer my question. Why do people still worship Reagan?
the mess we are currently in is the direct result of the deregulation and privatization initiated by him -- we are all suffering under the ideologies of the austrian school except, of course, for the extremely wealthy . . .
Come on man.. we all know we have to give lots of money to the rich so that it can trickle down to the poor. There's no other way. Don't fool yourself, Reagan is the only president in the world who knows the truth. Look at all the other countries, they don't know and look how much they suck.
Well the United States is well on way to being a nation that sucks. The only reason we haven't sank yet is due to the rest of the world keeping us floating long enough to get their investements out. On that note, You need to ask yourself this. If goverment isn't going to regulate industry, the markets and the banks. What good are they? Because if they aren't doing those 3 things, then the only things they can do is pass laws against the common person for prison terms and to force them to spend their money. Which pretty much are the conditions of a facist police state.
he's that guy in the oval office, we put there to get rid of that other bastard we were ashamed of. yes its a bitch he's doing a lot of the same things. bush didn't make a fart without his puppet masters hands up his ass. the same puppet masters are still there. electing one man doesn't get rid of them, no matter who he is. and who are "they". corporate mafia is as good a name as any. the national chamber of commerce. and all the lobbying that government of the dollar, for the dollar and by the dollar, actually runs on.
Who is Obama? Oprah created him, she should be the one to answer this. As far as being a great orator, haven't seen that demonstrated yet. I've seen him quote the "pledge of allegiance". I've seen him read prepared speeches. Never seen him really wax poetic off the cuff. As to being a "constitutional" scholar, haven't really seen that demonstrated either. Probably part of the banking and financial elite...have seen a lot of that demonstrated from his first cabinet appointments.
From Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
Largest debt, but largest economy too. Debt relative to economy, the US is nowhere near the most indebted in the world.
The only problem being growth of the debt is a certainty, while growth of the economy is not. I guess we can take solace in the fact that we may not be the first to fail, second or third place being preferable in a race to the bottom economically.
Are you claiming he is from Kenya? I've not made such a claim. And in fairness, I will retract my previous post after investigating and finding that it was provided me out of context. The full text of the paragraph from which it was taken I found to read as follows. "Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
I would have clicked the 'I like this' if I had the icon to click. Why is it not available in this thread?? I agree with Individual, Reb and Voice of Truth. My sister used to tell me she thought Obamy was the Anti Christ. I don't necessarily agree with that mainly since I don't think Obamy is that intelligent. As for myself I just plain DON'T TRUST THE MAN. The fact that he only released his birth certificate info AFTER Donald Trump called him out on it matters not. As I see it it was too little too late. If I was in the market for a new or used truck I WOULD NOT BUY A TRUCK FROM OBAMY. I just don't trust him. He is a muslim. He is NOT AN AMERICAN. One last thing. I wish RooRshack lived in my area. I would love to meet him and bend his ear about the state Amerika is in. I would love to share my weed and my groceries with him as well. I think he is a fine fellow. And that goes for Reb, Voice of Truth and the Individual as well.
Barrack Obama: he's the guy who made it clear that when we're right and they're wrong, then "at least" this stance takes up the ethical view of selfishness. That standpoint has not discovered the social view of Egoism, and that to me is the truer way.
Woops, I blue that. TODAY is Memorial Day. < Smiley because, my view is the Republican One: wars are for the degeneration of Ethics: that is another word for Freedom>:2thumbsup:
