I can't quite work out to what extent you might be being ironic, but that's not my experience of this place at all. It's the most personal and intimate internet group I've ever come across. It's full of people who really do care about others as well as what's going on around them. Even before I plucked up the courage to actually meet some people from here three weeks ago I felt like I knew everyone's minds really well from reading their writing. I've met people from here with whom I hope I will remain friends for the rest of my life.
How rude I don't think everyone is like that, if anyone is. I know I don't have any hippy dreams, let alone any phony hippy dreams. Why do you just assume this?
