I'll eat the hell outta some of them noodles. Fake news says they're not good for you but a little research shows it provides iron, B vitamins and manganese...stuff that's YUGE when it comes to proper body function. (Note: not as good as lasagna though.)
Hell yeah, I love me some ramen! Have you ever been to a Ramen shop/restaurant? Oh, they’re the best, especially the ones I’ve been to in Japan!! Been to a few stateside ramen shops that weren’t too bad. I wish they had more of them!
I've read dried noodle are not good for you so I don't eat too much of them. Something to do with the way they break down and the toxins in the gasses. I already have some tummy issues so I don't chance it by eating too often. On a side note my favorite noodle is Hokkian.
i don't think i've eaten them since college, but i really never had a problem with it. these pictures are making me hungry now.
There are Ramen Noodles and then there are Ramen Noodles, I prefer Maruchan Ramen Noodles with Beef flavored foil packets, over Nissin Top Ramen.
That’s why I like going to the ramen shop instead. And I’m fortunate my wife makes here own seasoning and soup base. Hers is better than the store bought brands -I’m hungry now-
There's quite a few Ramen restaurants here. They exploded when Pho did or maybe shortly after. I've yet to try it but people swear by it and some even compare it favorably to pho.
I like pho better but ramen is really good too. Proper ramen with a made from scratch broth and fresh ingredients, I never liked the prepackaged stuff very much
I'll order ramen on occasion. Pho too. I've recently started liking a new pho place in the next town over. It's kind of nice because it fills you up, won't break the bank, and they have vegan options (not that I'm vegan, but there's the option...).
Its just spaghetti really, but without the fun stuff like pasta sauce and meatballs, oh and you leave some of the water in So, soggy spaghetti really
Yeah, pho has its own distinct taste, and I also realized that not every ramen shop, even in Japan, tastes the same. I found one or two that I really liked that stood out from the others. I always ask for extra meat and extra eggs to be added to mine.
They say college is the time to experiment... On occasion, I would use prepackaged ramen noodles with pasta sauce, it's not really comparable to spaghetti imo.
Incidentally, at the pho restaurant with the vegan options, I actually ordered vegan! I tried vegan ham. It's good! And there was a ton of it! At the other pho places the tendency seemed to be to skimp a bit on the protein. This place, loaded with protein! There was more vegan ham and tofu and other chunks I didn't know what to do with myself. Now that it's a forum topic, I can't wait to go back!
