    people will vote whomever the television tells them to vote for. free will and thought is dead in the face of crippling debt and greed, the outcome will be the ruin of the country in the hands of people who look no further than their personal gain.

    I'm not Australian, but how nice it must be to be able to choose from 7 different parties in an election. At least you've got a real choice. In the US, which is 10 times the population of Australia, we have exactly 2 parties to choose from, and there isn't any significant difference between them. This isn't much of a democracy, as far as I'm concerned.

    It's not all it's cracked up to be. Even with preferential voting the only parties that ever form government are Labor or the Liberal-National coalition.
