Way to go! I admire your efforts. I, too voted for Badnarik. For the House and Senate seats here in Maryland, because Libertarians didn't field any candidates, I 'held my nose' and ended up voting for the two Constitution Party candidates running for those respective seats. In nearby Anne Arundel County, we ran a candidate for Circuit Court Judge. I worked at one of the polls there distributing literature for a few hours and know that I was able to influence several votes.

I not only voted for Kerry, but volunteered for him as well. I also interned on a MN state house campaign. Minnesotans finally woke up, Kerry won MN by almost twice as much as Gore, and the Dems took back 13 MN house seats, which is unheard of. I am so tired of this "lesser evil" bullshit. I didn't vote against Bush, I voted for Kerry. I would rather have John Kerry in the white house than Ralph Nader or David Cobb (or Mike Badnarik, who is just a punk who doesn't pay his taxes. I have no respect for him). While Cobb and Nader both seem like decent candidates on the issues alone, they would both be terrible leaders. You can't vote strictly on the issues, you must vote for the person, too. I had the privlege of meeting Kerry personally when he was here in MN last June. He is MUCH more amiable in person than you would think, and that is when I realized that this was someone that I could enthusiastically support, rather than just use as a vote against Bush.

    Peace, Alex

That's fucked up, here in MN it's illegal to campaign within 100 feet of the polls. I'm sure it is in MD too, but the Libertarians deny the existence and legitimacy of laws, so it wouldn't matter. Why don't they show their true colors, and just call themselves the anarchy party?

Yes, the same law applies here and, for the record, I complied with it! What gave you the impression that I didn't? You seemed to have taken something totally out of context.

I'd like to shed light on some of your misconceptions about libertarian activists-at least the majority. We try to do our best as much as possible to work within the system to change laws. I find this and your other attack against Badnarik unwarranted. Remember that without a social security number, which Badnarik does not have, you don't need to pay income taxes or file a return.

If you felt that Kerry was the right man for the country, that's OK. Personally, I didn't care for most of his platform.
