I get young kids looking at me sometimes, when Im sitting on a bench on the boardwalk ,here in Jersey- - - maybe with a coffee or a paper- -maybe I threw on an old Army Jacket to help fight the ocean breeze> ( yeah , I was bigger then..the one I saved still fits)-> longish grey hair, with the grey goatee to match- (Pretty.. 'Now' looking.. ,Im thinking-lol) and I can hear the whispers...." Check out that old hippie,,,giggles and comments fade into the wind,,, ,but I feel that the label they choose to use was more of a De-grading thing- - than one said with wonder or interest. Most young kids don't come outta hipforums- -Does it bother me to be labeled and looked at like an relic found in the sand?? Not really, these youngsters for the most part..are uneducated or influenced by the way media portrayed us over the years - like someone selling music of the era at 2 in the morning for Time-Life- - - I don't label myself- I'm so much more than an old hippie->one label to try an sum up a lifetime of being- is just ridiculous 5AM thoughts jack
I know that I've said it elsewhere Jack. But I'd rather be called a Hippie than a Fucking Asshole. And I freely acknowledge that I'm a fucking asshole. Peace Out, Rev J

In the spring of '68. I was still living on Haight Street and one day I was talking to a neighbor of mine who I babysat on a couple of occasions. She was all of eight years old . Then, just out of the blue she said " I thought all the hippies left here last fall." It was definitely a big compliment to me. About two months later, I met a suffragette at a corner grocery store after having a confrontation with an elderly gentleman. She and I had a conversation. She quoted Shakespeare 's " all the world's a stage, and we are but actors", and then she added " and you play the role of the hippy very well". After that I decided to accept the label hippy with pride. & I still do . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKRhMTvXbLY"]YouTube - Peter Fonda hawking Timelife "Flower Power" CDs Freedom Rock was OK but I liked " Flower Power " LOL PAX
Yeah but you have to admit that the line "Remember the good old days, War, Protests, Getting Arrested," Is fucking classic. I remember being in Grade School being able to sing all of the song snippets in that commercial in order like it was one song. Peace Out, Rev J
