enrironmentalism and capitalism are mutaly contradictive, which is why the greens are bullshit. In a society motivated by large amounts of cash, and controlled by the fat cats, the environment just cant improve at the rate the greens want. They need to develop other policy to allow their green policies to work!!! I support the policies, its just they cannot work without others!!!
fair point... the problem is that the rate of environmental decline isn't really within our control on a capatilist / business way... by that i mean, it can't be negotiated... it will decline at the rate it is doing unless we dramatically change our ways of living. There isn't always a middle ground
I think Climate change is the biggest threat to the planet from what the scientists have predicted, and im going to believe them on this one, the speed at which its going to start having bad bad effects is pretty frightening.... The Greens are the only party that will take this seriously enough and thats enough for me to give them my vote. Of course the best solution to helping the environment would be to get rid of Bush, but the greens in power in Britain would be a good start. But, as cynical as it may sound, theres as much chance of my mum getting into power unfortunately, and she may force people to eat her sunday dinners urghhh:&
I have decide to ignore the election... Instead, I shall be holding a general erection of my own... Fly...
ahh i see... like fly's glasto *ponders* ... may i run in the election?... i have an interesting policy based on the colour turquoise
I read something a while back (or watched a tv documentary) , about was it wise to put vast amounts of money into a speculative enviromental danger (well speculative danger we can't be sure of the timescale of) ..The amount of money to put off (by x amount of years) a enevitable event, might be counter productive.. Much better to sort out the problems of the here and now and then the countries with debt poverty etc etc (helped by the money otherwise spent on enviromental issues) could help with the enevitable cost . If the rich pump in bilions while neglecting the poor we will have two problems on our hands, when one is shockingly in our faces and completly corectable. Not that money spent on enviromental change is a bad thing..but we are jumping in leaps and bounds already (anyway) .
