lived 13 years in Victoria, on fantasy isl....I mean Vancouver Island.
Now I am somehow trapped in a kind of time warped, quirky, nether region they call Matsqui, or Clearbrook, or Abbotsford......I live right on the line between the latter two, which are both in the former...which is in the Central Fraser Valley.
I just like to say I live just south of the Sto:lo river, which was the old name. But then it was 'discovered' by that Scottish guy, Fraser. The 5 000 year old homesites on the north bank, half a mile from the river are a dilemma, though. Can you imagine, half a mile away for 5 000 years, yet it takes a Scotch tourist from the other side of the planet to discover it. Go figure.

Amazing countryside, but nothing to do except drink and smoke, oh but fungi foraying is great here! (non magic mainly)... We do also have the RSPB's flagship reserve near here at minsmere. So i guess countryside pursuits are more common here, i drove past a fox hunt yesterday, there was only 2 police cars and no protesters...
