Yeah, but my potatoes were also whistling BEFORE I put them in the microwave. And it wasn't the Andy Griffith tune. .
Right? It's not rocket surgery. But I do like to nuke them then butter and salt them and put them under the broiler to crisp the skin. It's GOOD.
Wonder how you people find these videos. All I need now is an annoying talking potato trying to talk me out of microwaving him. .
Holy, I wondered if there was a reason and typed into google......why do potatoes whistle when in a microwave.........and got this thread.
Looks like sausages whistle too. http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Whistling-Sausage-and-other-Microwave-Lunacies Guess they don't know the words either. .

Living underground for most of their life, potatoheads are not used to being thrown around, prodded and poked, sliced and diced! Whistling is a sign of stress for a potato, that they are all steamed up and ready to explode!
What are those little potatoes that have no skin and are so good with butter? I haven't had any of those in the longest time. Like, you can fit a whole one in your mouth.
Baby potatoes is what I'm thinking of. I love baby potatoes. Even though I don't have anywhere to cook them, maybe I'll just buy some and eat them raw. Maybe with a little salt. YUMMY!
"whistling potatoes whistling potatoes you'll come a whistling potatoes with me, and his ghost may be heard as you wander by the swimming pool, you'll come a whistling potatoes with me"
I always thought they were called "new potatoes". I have always liked them too. I am not sure I would try them raw.
