Which style of music do you most prefer?

Grateful Dead and/or Jimi Hendrix (if I'm playing along with him, lol).

 

basically old rock bands, jam bands, acoutic bands, all those good bands.

 

grateful dead must be an american thing.. theyve got some great songs but most of the stuff ive heard is really plain?

what songs of grateful dead are best?

 

the stuff they performed live. I agree that the studio is mostly flat...although not completely.
I am always fond of Peggy-o, Let It Grow and china/rider

 

i voted rap/hip hop. but it has to be underground rap like 'jedi mind tricks' or old skool rap like '2pac', 'biggie', 'rappin 4tay', 'wu tang clan' etc

when stoned i am very open minded and will listen to whatever plays next on party shuffle.

Don't know if any of you know them.
they're kind of cute, kind of weird and have three cello's.
it just sounds so awesome.
and all their lyrics are like little story's.
they don't sing about the normal stuff.
I don't know.
Maybe they do, but they do it in a "once upon a time" way.
which is awesome.

the only downside is, every time I hear Rasputina I wanna get stoned.
and I hear Rasputina often.

 

does anyone just like listening to instrumentals when stoned?


i do that with 2pac/biggie - running. its got such a good piano, strings and base that it gives you shivers even when you're not stoned.

 

I like to listen to 311, Living Colour, King's X, and Coolio when I'm stoned.

 

All kinds of shit for me man. Classic rock, techno/ambient, nature sounds, meditation, classical like mozart, psychedelic rock. Some bands I like are Pink Floyd, The Doors, Beatles, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin (love the rain song high), ect.
