I lost my password to my previous profile which was Wombat 96, so I created another one. Yogamat, I am near Strathalbyn.
My family almost moved to Melbourne yeeeaaars ago, because my father, who doesn't even speak English, was offered a job. I wonder what my life would have been like now.
Where abouts in Canberra do you live? I used to live there. I know rest of Aus talks it down, but I thought it was great. Do you like it?
Hi Irminsul, I love it here. Live in the suburb of Garran. Where did you live in Canberra? Is there anything about where you live now that's similar to Canberra?
You're going to laugh, when we came to Australia we lived in Queanbeyan. My parents now live in Gowrie and my sisters have moved around Canberra. Similarities.. Well it's a mountain area which is what attracted my folks to move there from Alpine Germany, as they saw a flourishing farming opportunity at the time. Those days are behind them now, they've settled into Canberra, I moved back home. I'll be in Canberra in June though, not for very long most likely a day or less.
Oh, June, you've picked the coldest month to come! Would you believe it's been over 32°C for a month, peppered with a few 40° days. As hot a summer as I can remember.
In a few hours it will be -10 where I live June in Canberra is about -2 and only in the morning lol. We haven't gotten out of the minus temps for over a week. What I like about Canberra is its distance I guess from major cities and that it's in the bush. You can literally look anywhere and see the mountains which aren't far away to get to and get out of civilisation. You can go N E S and West from city Central and still find partial isolated country side in less than 30mins Our favorite was the back road to Adaminaby en route to a place called Khancoban in the Snowy Mountains.
Backroads everywhere, from Adaminaby to Tumut to Cooma, passed Braidwood down to the B-Bay, babay! I've been everywhere, man, I've been everywhere man.
