The earth dodged a bullet that day, and it took almost two years for most of us to find out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ukQhycKOFw"]ScienceCasts: Carrington-class CME Narrowly Misses Earth - YouTube
I was two weeks out of being in jail....and just...at home and very very happy. Now I feel I was even more luckier in that particular month.
apparently that was a monday, and i was still at the parks and rec job at that point, so i would have been at work. i have no idea what i would have been doing though. baseball was over by then, so i was probably either working on flag football for the fall, or working on some sort of park maintenance project. after work, i was probably either hanging out at my apartment pool, or posting on hipforums.
I remember that day like it was yesterday... a warm mid summers day. I was enjoying my day off work in the back yard. I specifically remember drinking 9 bud lights and then wanking on the grass
I'd have to check my calendar but im pretty sure that day was pretty well spent the same as most of my days are yep..i was right...just like most days i never write shit on my calender
i probably went to work that day but the previous day i spent time with my brother, mom, grandma and some other family. so if the world went into a frenzy...at least i had done that. on thursday of that week i went to see the dirty heads play in buffalo, and on the weekend i went camping with my brother. had the solar flares hit us, that would have fucked up at least the concert...
Why does all the fun shit miss our orbit? I don't know. I was about half way through probation, and probably worked in the evening. Probably did some wrenching earlier in the day. I might have HF posts from that date painting a clearer picture.
My cousin had driven from NC to visit. We hadn't seen each other in 30+ years and were greatly enjoying ourselves. Then, about 1 1/2 weeks later I broke 2 bones in my ankle, requiring surgery...that's why that period of time is so easy for me to remember.
sitting in front of a computer no doubt. and equally no doubt, that any real risk was highly exaggerated.
