    I see civilization falling.

Ol lodog's got a plan though. I'm gonna join the initial mob looting a pillaging all the smart start cereal I can. I'll have a good heart and the 8 essential vitamin and minerals needed for mob mentality. I'm gonna do a lot of hiding and sneaking around the first year or so. Once leaders start popping up to control various packs of people surviving I'm gonna join these various groups and play them against each other. While they're busy fighting I'm gonna steal their stockpile of twinkies because I'm pretty sick of Smart start by this time.

While all this is going on I'll be growing out my beard and hair. I'll need to create an aura of fear about me so looking wild and feral will have the best effect. I'll also hang skulls and bones from the pelt I make from chihuahua hides. Once a police state begins forming I'll immediatly pledge allegiance to whatever big brother comes out of the woodwork. I'd like to be some kind of propaganda administrator, but I'll settle for a desk job.

    Do you all have plans?

I have got a divan bed,so there's no room under it so maybe I'll hide in the cupboard under the stairs until it's all over, Mind you I suppose I could curl up and hide in one of the drawers in the divan base, what do think I should do? :)

These threads BOIL my blood. Not because I'm angry at you individuals with complete misguided views of the world, but that you individuals are lied to and deceived to your complete and utter realization of said.

I have not even read a post in this thread, not even the original post.

I have just read the title. And know what ?

I already know what you are all saying. I know the ins and outs of what you think, feel about the world, and what you expect to happen-that is to say I know the enemy and I know what they teach you.

    It's sick !

    How is this possible ?

Because most of you have no clue of the suppression of truth going among you and to what degree.

    I pray for you all.

lol yea. I missed this whole thread because I need to humble myself...that or educate everyone to my understandings (which would take ten threads to do and is coming soon).

The trick is to avoid being banned for speaking what I feel. Free speech is never available in a wicked world.

Thought to be fair, I'm sure the liqure joke was cool and that not everybody is in the dark.

Unless someone or something steps in and changes our direction, we are headed for self destruction. :)

    Yes I do.
Unlike the science fiction novels you read, my comments are based on the history of our species and this planet.

Perhaps if you took a closer look at those science fiction "stories" you're reading you would see that the dominate themes are still war, subjugation, etc. They're just doing it with death stars.

To say everyone behind advancement of any kind of technology has no morality is like saying, all black people steal televisions, or all hippies are lazy complainers.

    Its just silly.

You do not know that our infrastructures will collapse and all modern ways of society will fall into chaos, forcing us to go back to back to old ways of doing things. Causing those (AKA the majority) who did not 'learn the old ways' to perish.

My suspicions is that this is just a 'fantasy story' that some people like to tell themselves to make themselves feel better about never really accomplishing anything of value in society. What if another 10 years pass and society is just continuing on the same, just with larger populations, new technologies and more refined political structures? Will you still then be saying "prepare for collapse, learn to farm and hunt"?

Are you aware there isn't even enough room on the surface of the earth for every currently living person to spread out on, build their own hut to live in, and have their own chunk of land to produce food on? There are already enough humans to cover every inhabitable square inch of land if we all spread out and did that. Are you aware if everyone started to hunt for their food, we would hunt everything to extinction because our population is so great. Our population being so large can only be fed by advanced agricultural techniques.

I personally refuse to believe in any future scenarios which require mass death.

The total collapse of society will most likely not take place during our lifes so it's not necessarily an excuse to accomplish anything of value (which is totally subjective of course) in society. I also don't understand why you refuse to believe in such future scenarios, rygoody, when you already state yourself that our population is too large to uphold if our advanced agricultural infrastructures would collapse.

Yes, because, as has been pointed out, there is no profit in such an endeavour. Unless we stop blindly worshipping profit, the results will be dire indeed.

But rygoody, we are already hunting and exploiting everything to extinction. The way we are going, it is UNAVOIDABLE that we will strip the world of its natural resources quicker than those resources can renew themselves.

My favorite example (I am biased): Within 40-60 years, there will be no more fish in the ocean, assuming the harvesting capacity of the world's fishing fleets isn't increased. (Which of course it will be)

Roughly 70% of the world's population relies on the ocean as their primary source of protein.

You are intelligent, I'm sure you can draw the logical conclusion.

There are many more examples, but it is evident that unless we change our ways we will be unable to sustain ourselves. Your refusal to accept that fact does not change it.

Personally, I believe (and hope) modern society will crumble under economic collapse. As stinkfoot predicts, this would lead to starvation on a global scale, but I think humanity will survive for much, much longer - we are really, really good at that - but hopefully on a sustainable scale, and while our planet still resembles the paradise that it is, and retains some biodiversity.
